The '93-'94 New York Knicks were one of, if not the most popular Knicks team in franchise history. Posting a regular season record of 57-25, they defeated the Jordan-less Bulls in the Conference Semifinals, and the Reggie Miller led Pacers in a dramatic 7 game Conference Finals matchup.

Agreed but this was the team of my childhood and Patrick was my hero. Although we didn’t get a ring I took comfort in knowing that we left everything we had on the court. All you can ask of your team is maximum effort and Patrick and the guys never let me down.

Someday, the Knicks will win the title again. And what makes me sad about that is that title won't mean as much to me because it wasn't these guys. I can't imagine any Knicks team meaning to me what these 90s dudes meant. Assuming I'm still alive to see it, anyways.

@@billny33 Same thing to me, as for Portugal football (soccer) team, if we ever win the world cup, it won't be the same without Ronaldo. It's the same with the Knicks, of course I'll be happy, but without Pat, John, Derek, Mase, and all the others, it won't have the same taste.

Still not over that Finals loss. In fact, it may be more painful now than it was when, because in real time, you figured this team would be back, maybe even multiple times. We now know that was our one and only chance, and we blew it. Still my all-time favorite Knicks team (that whole Pat, Oak, Starks, Mase era), but man, we had Houston on the ropes and couldn't seal the deal.

Even though I hated seeing the Knicks take out the Bulls then, they're the most intriguing team from this era to me nowadays when I want to watch classic NBA. The modern NBA just seems so opposite of these gritty Knick teams that were the perfect foil for the Bulls and Pacers. If only there was some kinda NBA streaming service with all the games from back then. If only I were lucky enough to have been able to have DirecTV or whatever would've allowed me to watch out of network games in the 90's. The atmosphere these games had was electric, they were definitely some of the best matchups ever.

I wish they had discussed the flagrant foul Reggie Miller committed in the final seconds on John Starks. That was a special kind of guilty pleasure as a Knicks fan. Reggie was just trying to foul as quickly as he could to stop the clock and get the ball back. But he fouls Starks with this callous aggression, a two-hand shoulder shove. And the refs call the foul, which should only put the Knicks ahead by 3 at most with 4 seconds left. So the Pacers in theory should still be in it. But the ref calls it a flagrant (2 shots + the ball back to the Knicks which led to another intentional foul and 2 more free throws, Starks would make 3 of 4, just enough to put the game out of reach at 94-90), which they hardly ever did then. And Reggie was BESIDE HIMSELF! Pleading, arguing desperately with the refs as the Knick fans blew the lid off the Garden. It felt like sweet revenge for the choke sign he gave and the 25 point 4th quarter in Game 5. That Reggie had made the mishap to end Indiana's season. In addition to airballing the shot on the previous possession. That game in the final seconds, Patrick got it done and Reggie choked.

Knicks management failure to get another All Star to pair with Patrick Ewing and getting a proper backup for Ewing were major reasons for us not winning a NBA Championship. Ewing was always the first, second and third options. The Knicks failing to trade for Charles Barkley, and signing Rod Strickland were major failures. The Knicks trading Mark Jackson was another. Passing on free agents Rod Strickland, Ron Harper and instead trading for older players like Maurice Cheek, Doc Rivers, Derek Harper, Tony Campbell and Rolando Blackmon were other failures. Rod Strickland, John Starks, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley and Charles Oakley as starters. With Greg Anthony, Anthony Mason, Charles Smith and Hubert Davis off the bench. Ewing was the heart and soul of our 1990’s team. The Pat Riley Knicks were my favorite teams of 1990’s.

Go from game 5 to game 7 vs Indiana no mention of game 6. Call Bulls series a nailbitter don’t mention the fight that kept out the Knicks starting pg. or the Knicks comeback that ended with Kukoc’s shot, etc. No mention of the 1st round, no mention of how the season went, Doc Rivers getting hurt, Mason being suspended by Riley, etc. What’s the point of doing this?

1991-2000 Knicks were a fucking problem respectfully. They easily win a championship with a 2nd scorer next to Ewing but they were damn near unbeatable defensively.Riley was rthere for 4 seasons’91-92 -‘94-95 but his mentality lasted with that team thru out the next 5 years following’96-2000 crazy that they let Houston come back n defeat them when they had the series by the balls.Ewing was a beast but he did get outplayed by Dream tho in the ‘94 Finals

@@megagalvatron281 true. Also they caught the East lacking. Jordan was gone yes but with him Boston lost Reggie Lewis And New Jersey lost Drazen Petrovic And the Knicks were great but played slow basketball allowing the comfortable and familiar Bulls a shot at the title in a league without a true SUPER outside of Hakeem Robinson Karl Malone Barkley Ewing and Pippen no Drexler at this point as he started his decline about this year maybe year before. Payton and Kemp were on the cusp, and Cleveland was retiring half their starting lineup. Bulls capitalized on a shift from East to West. Pacers also took advantage

@@megagalvatron281 LJ got hurt 🤕 in 93-94 or else the 94 Hornets would have been an easy playoff team and possible rabble rouser in the East playoffs that season. Although, it was Alonzo and LJ and it appears Alonzo had a ceiling of competition he couldn't crack. LJ had more success with New York than did Zo with Miami, BUT, LJ was like option 4 for NY. Zo was hard #1.

@@megagalvatron281 Hornets in early 93-94 pre LJ's career altering injury the Hornets were top 4 in the East. They started strong sometimes HOT and were the cream of the East crop. Indiana was struggling like 10-14 at some point or something but the second half of the season came and teams jostled and swapped positions. Hornets were a team on the rise and on their way from Alonzo's drafting. They were helped out by Reggie Lewis'heart problems in the 93 playoffs. They were promptly bullied by Ewing's Knicks. Then 94, LJ's injury stifled their progress and they took a step back. Then 95 they were close to getting where they should have been in 94 and they won 50 games. BUT, then came Air Jordan back with the Bulls and they were promptly bullied and then dismantled. Zo was a HeaT by 96.

That's a silly response. So many teams across all sports don't win. But true fans follow and support their teams and the players of their respective eras. That Knicks team and the '99 Knicks typified who they were throughout the entire decade. The New York Yankees didn't win throughout the entire 1980s. But fans remember the play of "Donnie Baseball" - Don Mattingly. Don't be a jerk homie.
