​@@TheLostPrimarchIn a sea of creators who paraphrase the wikis, there are only a few channels who do things differently. Of all the newer channels who do something outside of this, there's Arthur Bones who started strong but mostly just does editorializing and he's gotten weaker and weaker as he has exhausted all of his most interesting opinions, there's Live! From The Black Library who is very verbose and has a lot going on in life and in KZbin projects so they upload infrequently (understandably) but they have a tendency to strap in for a 60+ minute yapfest just to make the point. Not quite on the same level as Luetin's endless hypotheticals and constant navel gazing but still in roughly the same ballpark. Then there's your channel: interesting ideas from the source material, not just regurgitating the wiki, and to the point usually in under 15 minutes. Truly a hidden gem.

When they say the Emperor stole the Chaos Gods powers, I think the implication is that he cheated them. I believe that he actually took their power legitimately, but thats not in the Chaos Gods Lexicon, they never give their power freely. He took it by beating them in their own games, not by playing out their fake challenges like Horus did.

He made a bargain before the unification of Terra but after he became the king of Germany (or what they call it in 40k). He used a cult in Scandinavia to bargain for him, he asked the chaos gods to give him plans to create super soldiers (like thunder warriors, Custodes etc), in return Emperor would spread the word of Chaos gods, and let humanity worship them without interference. But after Emperor got the plans and started to make super soldiers, he reneged on the deal and instead crushed all worship and created a secular imperium.

But the 17 year old is a follower of Slanesh. It's hard cause the 8 year old is on Fortnite and Roblox. He is slowly getting into Space Marines 2. But yeah heresy is hard when it's family 😂 Looks like my 4 year old daughter likes the sisters as she watches space Marine 2 game play. So we shall see what the 1 year old does. I generally think that the Emperor didn't want the Imperium to last. He could have controlled humanity for more than 40.000 years at the time the Imperium was made. It was only at the height of humanity that he couldn't have taken over. I rather think this was him riding by the seat of his pants, trying to save humanity at its lowest point. His goal being to connect all of humanity and giving it the webway, this allowing humanity to be safe and to safely go through a psychic awakening by using the webway. After this, i think the goal was for humanity to take over its own rule and even create its own government. I take this from the Imperium being mostly run by the council of Terra, the council outranked the primarchs and anyone who was not the Emperor. He also kept making it clear that humans should rule humans. Finally, he built up massive universities, educated everyone and worked to increase the average persons quality of life, this generally leads to the fall of empires. The most stable empires have a powerful ruling class and a weak lower class. I think the Imperium was inherently temporary, made to connect humanity and give it what it needed to make the webway. This path also allowed his armies to use horrible methods, as any horrors committed would be blamed on the leadership of the Imperium, which would crumble. He then had to make the Imperium stable after the webway project failed, so he would have time to figure out a new plan. The webway is so central for 2 reasons: Firstly, it keeps you safe from the forces of chaos and their touch, meaning that psykers can grow and learn without becoming gates to demons. Secondly, it changes how human populations see each other, being on different planets is suddenly the same as someone living in the other end of your home town. So everyone suddenly has a reason to deal with each other as part of the same population.

Now that we know what the Terminus Decree is. That would make sense. The Terminis decree would kill every primarch and every space marine, and the emperor himself as well. It's all starting to make sense now, and answers the question of why Custodians Have no trace of the emperor's Genetics.

Malcodor confirmed that idea when he spoke to Horus. He never wanted to rule he just wanted mankind to evolve he chose some of the worst ways to do it because he figured he didn't have time.

I got the complete different perspective. Emperor tried multiple times to take control of mankind, but according to the perpetuals they managed to stop him every time. It was just the catastrophe during the dark ages Emperor managed to convince the other perpetuals to help him take control and save humanity. The other perpetuals seeing no other way, joined him as his generals in the unification of Terra. But one by one the other perpetuals realized emperor was misguided and left until he betrayed them by completing the Primarch project. Emperor only cared about his goals, that is why everyone he liberated was turned into slave to feed his warmachine. Unfortunately his greatest weapons was also his greatest weakness as chaos turned his sons against him when they learned his true intentions. His goal to become emperor for all time. By being a perpetual, with his army of Custodes and his army's ability to travel instantaneously through the webway, no one would ever be able to stop him. This was one of the big reasons Horus turned, the thought that the population he convinced to join the Imperium would end up in endless enslavement. In the end when the Emperor was on his last rope, it was the other perpetuals that had to come to his aid, sacrificing themselves in order to help the Emperor defeat Horus and bring a stalemate to the Galaxy.

The Emperor _is_ an autocratic tyrant. Constantin Valdor openly _states_ that the "Lex Imperialis" means nothing... that it's a ruse, merely an illusion of an Imperium running on laws. And Valdor and Malcador should know. The Emperor could always use his psychic might to make everyone love him, or erase/edit their memories, and he did. Valdor also grimly stated he would commit any atrocity for the Emperor if ordered or if it was neccessary to protect the Imperium (not its citizens): But "the end justifies the means" is not an ethical doctrine.

So the emperor was made by the soulbonding of a few psykers that died and he was born. And then he made a device, that lets him soulbond with 1000 Psykers a day. Maybe the beacon the navigators see, is only a byproduct of the binding. Imagine what the 2.0 Version will be like, when he has enough Souls bonded and he rebirths himself. The psychic shockwave of will close any warprifts etc. Like the birth of a warpgod but in the materium

So he clings on to his life until his singularity soul is massive enough that the bargain he made with the chaos gods for his soul does not affect him any more because he is to powerful in this moment and he can instantly be reborn.

Yea his rebirth into existence would be such a psycho- kinetic blast, it could theoretically cause damage to the hive mind of the Nids itself but opposite slannesh birth, the prince of pleasure exploded into the material universe and snatched The souls of the Eldar, the emperor's rebirth will explode into the warp with a powerful enough blast it could blind the hive mind and scorch massive portions of chaos armies dealing them a significant blow like none have ever experienced.

​@@dafoerderI had said in a different post that I don't believe the emperor even has a soul at all I think it's all been a lie, I believe the emperor is 4th dimensional being, he made that deal with them knowing he wasn't going to have anything to give them and they chose to play dirty by instead of killing him they mortally wounded him to a point where he has to be connected to the Golden throne which keeps him in the perpetual state of life and death. The body that he inhabits is his Avatar, it would help to explain some of his abilities and things like his powers and stuff.

My personal take... is that the Emperor is sort of 'paying the deaths by birth scream forward' through the meat grinder that is the Imperium. What with the whole warp time weirdness. In stead of it being a massive and explosive climax he's spread it out over millenia and made each one matter within his overall plan. Not sure I'm right, but that's my read based on some of the subtext I've gotten from certain very knowledgeable characters currently.

That's an interesting idea. Deciding to pull the ascension out over a sustained set of millennia instead of the hyper destructive instant that Slanneish demonstrated to the galaxy. It would let him fight them directly, on their own level, without the catastrophic consequences for humanity that he saw cast the Eldar into the fire. Specifically 'god forging' a defender of humanity, a 'God' writ in an image that is symbiotic to humanity, rather than a parasite like Slanneish, or a general cancer upon sapience like the other three major warp entities. A 'Order God' to oppose them effectively, and put humanity at the heart of freedom from them.

When you think about it, this plot thread is almost identical to Leto II from Dune. Really only a few slight changes have been made here but the end goal is the same, the survival of humanity. This is literally "The Golden Path" with slight differences. I knew Warhammer stole certain things from Dune but I didn't think it extended this far until now.

I think the real end game and the whole reason why the crusade happened in the first place is so the Emperor can complete his Pokemon collection. Some of the foil cards were scattered in the warp and that was the real reason why we had the dark age of technology.

I think the webway project and golden throne was a unholy union of dark age, elder and necron tech, that would kill the chaos gods in their current form and reset the warp presay, but to do that he needed to tame and chill out the Galaxy, so when the chaos gods reformed they would wouldn't come back as their current twisted form because you can't truly kill concepts, and the webway would put on other safe guards for space travel not serve as the main function

Chaos can't be destroyed. Emperor knew that. He wanted to get rid of warp use. Webway was the only solution. He would've built great cities inside the webway where psykers will learn their gifts while rest of baseline humans and humanity will use webway for safe travels in the galaxy.

All I’m going to add is I can’t think of the Emperor on the Golden Throne without thinking of the poem “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” by Dylan Thomas. The last verse in particular. We know that humanity and earth by its proxy was seeded and crafted to hold life by the old ones, and unlike the crude slapped together creations like the Eldar and the Orks humanity or its equivalent was meticulously planed and gen crafted from the start to mould a species through proper chains of evolution. We also know that allegedly the old ones were reptilian, and we do know that the war in heaven raged during the time of the dinosaurs, aka reptilians. So they could have been planning to have them evolve in to their kind first, but just in case they had contingencies in place so all life on earth were injected with the potential to evolve in to the reborn old ones. So when the void dragon found out about it, why else would he be in the Sol system? He destroyed the dinosaurs to wipe out the old ones plan, so the contingency of mammalian life triggered, eventually evolving them in to us. And well, slowly evolving us in to them. But when the void dragon noticed that, sleeping on earth all this time the safe guard was already in place in the shape of the Emperor to beat and banish him to Mars. Just my hair brain theory, feel free to steal it if you want.

The Emperor my well be just holding on hoping for the odds to fall in his favor and the tide turn. If he can stop chaos from winning, at some point he my be given the opportunity to strike back or win. If humanity worship him they wont be worshiping the chaos gods. Thus in time the strength chaos would have got from humanity to win and dominate it; would in the end become the emperors to wield. This is the part about the emperor protects belief. He protects.

The emperor is anathema, chaos cannot be killed with chaos, when a psycher or anything else destroys a daemon that daemon only returns to the warp and continues to exist but weapons the emperor has imbued with his anathema remove daemons from existence entirely. The pantheon tried to trick the emperor into becoming the dark king which would have resulted in him losing his anathema and becoming their equal, just another chaos god in the warp. Currently He is still the anathema and so is still dangerously beyond their control. Just my take on it 😊….. Actually that is not what happened in their duel, the Emperor fought him after discarding his compassion for his son, as a Dark King he could have defeated him with ease but humanity would have died, so he has to fight him without drinking in the power of warp, and only through deception did he defeat Horus. Its all in the End and death vol 3

I like to think that the Emperor's foresight isn't perfect, so in trying to prepare for events from the future, he unknowingly walkid into the path that leaves him entombed in the Golden Throne with a massive cult after him and a daily feed of psykers. But since he's still the Emperor, he decided to commit to the bit, "guess I'm a god of humanity now" and is using his increasing presence in the warp to influence the war across the galaxy. Things like the Star Child and that time he lowkey possessed Guilleman and set Nurgle's garden on fire.

Warhammer 40k has always seemed to me to be the attempt at the best potential path knowing there was fire and pain to walk through to get there. Awesome video! I also had a theory that the emperor knew about the herecy, hence he treated some primarchs like shit. It was not an accident or bad parenting. It was deliberate. He saw angron with the nails was useless- that's why he antagonized him, contrary to for example Corux, whom he told about the warp. In the grand schemes of things, mortarion, fulgrim, kurze, lorgar can be sacrificed, being less important that for example, Lion, Sanguinius or Russ. The only big losses falling were Perturabo, Horus and Magnus

The main issue i see with this is how much of humanity actually has positive emotion towards him. From the perspective of someone living in a hive world, their lives are complete misery and torture and have no idea why they are doing this or worshiping the emperor that did this and just know theyll get shot if they dont. If its known that this is the emperors plan amongst the primarchs and their is an end to the wars and genocides amongst everyone then i could see it at least being more possible but still a gamble to what kind of god would emerge if it happens with all the conflicting emotions that exist towards him.

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to point out to fans, who limited by a single human perspective, just think of the Emperor as either a tyrant or an evil man secretly trying to become a God. When if you actually study the lore, the Emperor is clearly just playing a game vs Chaos that could easily last Eons. Further he's always adapting, his plans in ancient earth millennia before our time fit that eras needs and his abilities/powers then. So his tactics then mean nothing now, all that matters is the pattern in his action. That's to save humanity. Which makes absolute sense considering he's based on the God Emperor of the Dune franchise, who made himself into a tyrant because he foresaw humanity stagnating and dying out unless we spread throughout the entire universe. So he made himself such a tyrant humanity fled from his Empire, to such a degree it became embedded into the human psyche to expand ever outwards and away from our galaxy. Just here, the enemy isn't humanity, it's external forces either wiping us out or corrupting us that he's fighting against. Yes, his plans suck for Quadrillions everyday for 10 millennia thus far... but he's in it for the entire species beating all the forces eternity can throw at them. These deaths are a drop in the bucket compared to that ocean of potential lives he's fighting for. Further he does seem to be reincarnating some and saving the souks of others, so they might die physically but not necessarily on a soul level.

On the topic of the emperor I believe he is actually a fourth dimensional being and the body that he inhabits is just an avatar of his, when it came to selecting the warmaster I don't think the emperor had control of that I believe that the only way the warmaster would have come about is with the chaos gods in agreement on Horus. Like if the emperor would have chosen the lion in the chaos gods might not have ever even tried to tempt him, the emperor was because he was a fourth dimensional being and the only way they need to stop him was not to kill him but to imprison him with the Golden throne, he is trapped in a perpetual state of life and death and cannot return to the fourth dimension. It would explain a lot of his actions and abilities as well. Let me be clear, the warp is not the Fourth dimension, it is still a third dimension it is just different with different fundamental laws that apply to it. I personally believe that some other perpetual's are fourth dimensional avatars also.

I've never read any of the warhammer books only seen other peoples interpretations of the characters and the universe, you've managed to nail what i have thought about the emperor he is a being who is nearly omniscient lived a thousand lifetimes and has seen the natural cycle of humanity played out countless times he has a disdain for religion because that power corrupts and will eventually crumble civilizations he's seen it in the past present and possible futures. Yet look at the state of the imperium ran with religious fervor to the "god" emperor opposite of the vision the emperor seems to place on the future of man not to mention how close he is to the immaterial plane having his power derive from the very place that most would consider heretical to even suggest. You also have to wonder how he fits within the immaterium I think that he was the little girl that got through the labrynth of tzeentch and from that gained more knowledge than a mortal mind could comprehend. Also what exactly are the pre requisites from birthing a chaos deity iirc it took thousands of years for slanesh to be born so its possible that's the end game. Yet here we are a couple of nerds discussing a story that is yet to be finished there are many ways this story could go and i for one will be curious to see the endgame if they decide to take it there cause right now everything is fucked and getting worse in the universe cause after all.
