Runner-up for 2020 to me is Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. He returned as a heel, something fans have been waiting to see, and attacked both Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman. And of course, we know what happened to Roman after that. A runner-up for 2022 returns for me is Mickie James at the Royal Rumble. What made this return so special was that not only was Mickie signed to Impact Wrestling at the time, but she was the Knockouts Champion. This was a rare case of WWE opening the forbidden door.

I think the reason Edge's return was so great was because it meant a lot to him. He probably spent 9 years wanting to wrestle and be at the WWE, but couldnt. It was the look on his face that made that return so special

One of the greatest non wresting returns of recent memory is Brian Robinson jr. Got shot in the leg twice when he was robbed. Returned to play nfl football 6 weeks later. Came out "many man by 50 cent"

Lashley's return was the biggest thing ever to me. Since I can remember Bobby Lashley was my favorite thing ever (I was quite young at the time) and when he returned I was losing my shit. He's still my favorite wrestler to this day, him and Big E

That's something they've been doing, unfortunately. The same way with Cody at this year's rumble. If he wasn't announced it could be a bit more surprising and fun. But instead, he was promoted, came out at Number 30 and won The match against Gunther, the intercontinental Champion. I love Cody Rhodes, but that match felt too much "given" to him
