My granddaughter decided to write all over my freezer, she thought she was using a dry erase marker.... it wasn't. I hadn't yet researched how to clean it, but now I don't have to. Thank you!!

My randaughter wrote all over my white desk with a black permanent marker - this hack cleaned it right off. Thank you!

Another way is to use isopropyl alcohol wipes. I sometimes label my jars on the glass instead of on the metal lid, an alcohol wipe takes it right off. It also gets a lot of the market off the lid as well.

Pretty much anything containing isopropyl alcohol works, including hand sanitizer (...which is easy to find these days)

@@drojf most baby wipes too!

Or just a bottle of rubbing alcohol- why does everything have to be so complicated? You don't need baby wipes or hand sanitizer or any of that.... Just get a bottle of rubbing alcohol. The higher the concentrate the better but good old 70% usually does the job just fine.

I can't find any video of showing how to remove permanent marker from a metal mailbox. See everything from whiteboards, tiles, etc, but nothing on metal. Mailboxes on my street have been defaced by a postal carrier, writing the numbers of each house mailbox...looks terrible. I have tried a graffiti remover, it reduce it a little, but not full removal. I have tried isopropyl, didn't do anything. Tried w-40, did nothing. This has to be a common problem happening to metal mailboxes...why can't I find anything or videos of what works on metal.
