Oooofff! I love the bird’s-eye view, but I often cringe when it looks like you plow right over other boats😅! I am having a blast living vicariously through your journey from the start.

This was a great video. Thanks for sharing. If you are going around the mitten this summer we have a home in Lexington,MI and would be happy to buy or host dinner to hear the first hand stories of your adventure as the Great Loop is on my wife and I’s dream list (maybe more on mine than hers 😂).

Our current plan is to take the Trent Severn which would mean we won't be coming through your area. We can't clear the bridges on the western Erie, so the route option that puts us through Lake Erie and past Detroit won't work for us. Thanks for the invitation, though!

Thank you, Kim, for that 'orientation map' at the video's intro. Having done this run a few times, it seems like an ideal segment to do 'outside'. Too bad the wind wasn't your friend. 300 gallons?! You must have been mostly empty. When you have the opportunity, perhaps you could share with us what your nmpg ('mileage') typically is.

We've considered going on the outside a few times in the past several cruising days and you're correct. The winds would have made it an uncomfortable ride. The Perch holds about 425 gallons of fuel. Sadly, The Perch is a bit of a fuel hog. Our typical mpg is about 1 at 8 knots. We're still looking for the "sweet spot" on fuel burn but it doesn't appear we'll be able to do much better than that.

What app did you use to find the cheapest fuel prices/locations? great video!!
@GreatLoop2 жыл бұрын
Two recommendations for that...WaterwayGuide.com has a fuel price report and Cruisersnet.net has one too. Both are updated weekly.

Can you tell me how you are doing the map portion of your video. Is this software?
@GreatLoop2 жыл бұрын
It's an export from our navigation software, and then I import it into Google Earth to create the fly over.

Thanks for sharing, Maybe time to switch up the repetitive music?
@GreatLoop2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. We're considering the options for music/no music, switching it, etc. I'm quite certain we won't find a solution that pleases everyone, but we'll see what we come up with.

Love your content, but can I kindly ask you to delete the back ground music, it is hard for me to blockout, and it’s extremely annoying, if I’m the only one that thinks this then I’m sorry, and I’ll go elsewhere for information on the Loop. Respectfully thank you for sharing.

I concur; it is a little bit loud. This is only her fifth post in this vein, so please grant her a little grace as she works out the kinks. Fascinating information!
