urugulu you just leave the ESC heatshrink exposed in a rectangle cutout at the bottom. Or they have watercooled ESCs popular in this size, so you could even mount an external radiator but honestly like 4 Oz of water in a reservoir will probably be enough anyways just to absorb heat since this thing has a super short range (6.5 km/30kph max speed= 13 minutes of runtime). Plus that means his average was 23 amps (so under 12 amps per motor), and that’s like a pitiful amount of power, like any cheap ESC can handle that and those are put in model airplanes with often 0 airflow enclosed in foam board... He won’t be getting those beast of ESCs very warm at all, even with 0 airflow and pedal to the metal!

I'm currently (very slowly) working on a dual motor ninebot es4 scooter with a 16s12p 30ah battery that goes 30mph, all I need to do is make a case for the giant battery, buy two new 40~ eBay esc's and buy a 16s bms and a 67v charger for charging, a 16s active balancer to hopefully help keep it balanced and make a bracket for the rear bike break, I had it running with the battery ratchet straped and the esc's hose clamped to the frame but all the vibrations caused a capacitor in the esc to break off and tumble around in it shorting stuff out so now I'm just going to wait until I have everything sorted out before I ride it again.

Regarding the batteries: Instead of building a much larger battery pack, wouldn't it be easier and enough to use 21700 batteries right from the start? In your case you already had a bunch of the Samsung 25R5's (2500mAh, 20A CDR and 50A peaks [100A peak if < 1sek]) at hand, but if someone had to buy them it might be better to use something like the Samsung 40T (4000mAh, 35A CDR or 45 CDR if temp sensed with 70A peaks) or Samsung 30T (3000mAh, 35A CDR with approx. 100A peaks). Sure the 21700's are more expensive than the 18650's but given the stats that's not that much of a big deal in my opinion.
@lastplace1995 жыл бұрын
If you turn the enclosure 90°, you might not need fans to cool it. You could just make grills to let air through when you're moving and maybe cool it semi-passively.
