Clean build man! I'd suggest mounting the components, especially the battery, to the deck itself and then use the enclosure simply as a cover rather than to carry all the components. Kydex and ABS will eventually crack when carrying all that weight over many bumps in the road. Fiberglass enclosures do much better carrying weight, so mounting the battery to the board is not as much of a concern with fiberglass.
@DIYesk8Builders5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I have heard other people say the same thing, but it has never posed a problem for me and I have ridden 1,500 miles on my personal board. My concern is that the deck flexes and with the battery connected to the deck, so would the battery. The enclosure flexes too, but less so so it is a tradeoff I had to make

So your bushings should be 2 duros harder in the kingpin closest to the board, and then your normal bushing weight at the first kingpin. Checkout riptide APS bushings as they’re what people use for freeride and downhill skating, and they have a chart to tell you the duro you need

My diy build I had my VESC drop voltage to my RX under wot forcing it into fail safe of "keep throttle open for 2 seconds" I flew for a good 15 feet. Ive got a different vesc than you but it might be worth checking. Id recommend laying down on the board with full gear to test it just in case it sticks. I fixed it by using a capacitor type SBEC ran direct off 12s. Those motors are great, its got way more power than people think.

Why do so many eboards go with double kingpin trucks? DH longboarders shudder at the sight of them and you'd get much more stability with RK trucks

Two recommendations about screw in nuts: put some epoxy around them before screwing in to seal the up as they can be moisture ingress points and damage the deck. Awesome build, I live just south of Portland and ordered the Ownboard carbon AT a week ago because of the rain . Now I’m second guessing that maybe I should’ve just built one!
@langcheng54435 жыл бұрын
Eh, DIY isn't necessarily the best option. You can easily mess up in the building process and spend more than you needed to and prebuilt customer support is nice too. The ownboard evolve clones are imo better with cloudwheels than AT wheels due to the turning behavior of dkp trucks, but rain riding is def limited on those wheels.
@runningcolekong5 жыл бұрын
I just felt like the Ownboard was the best option, I imagine you could throw some Abec 107’s on as well for street. Sad thing is I almost bought another hub motor cause they’re just so much cheaper with roughly the same specs. I chewed threw the PU on my last hub wheels though.
@langcheng54435 жыл бұрын
@@runningcolekong you could try buying abec 107s and evolve's wheel pulleys, this vid shows us the wheel pulley fits, but I'm not sure if ownboard's MOTOR pulley will fit with it. Performance-wise, smaller wheels AND an appropriately smaller gear ratio should increase both accel and top mph
@runningcolekong5 жыл бұрын
Valid point... I’d assume if the clouds fit, there’s gotta be some 100mm wheel out there that can work
@langcheng54435 жыл бұрын
@@runningcolekong wouldn't recommend ownboard's cloudwheel pulley with smaller ABECs. Every company makes flywheel pulleys that don't fit every flywheel.

why did u use double-king-pin for that high speed? would normal king pin trucks not be more stable?
@DIYesk8Builders4 жыл бұрын
Yes skp would be more stable but we personally like the feeling of dkp more for carving. We also like the fact that they have the built in motor mounts as many caliber mounts come loose over time. We rarely actually go up to those high of speeds but the board is capable of it
@ForrestDix4 жыл бұрын
Have you checked battery and ESC temps after a hard ride? It doesn't look like it has adequate cooling for the components in the enclosure.
@manuwelaboy50274 жыл бұрын
Nice build, yup been there done that. If your looking for sub sonic speeds.Check out west Coast Standard's latest release. You can't go back after a "ride". Wcs " chamber trucks" are stable and wobble free to 40+mph. I haven't gone beyond it yet. I leave this to the kids. Hey! I'm 50+, my days are numbered. I test all the custom builds by psychotiller,personally. So I can personally speak on their behalf. The forged billet units use10mil. Axles. Not typical 8's. They're practically bulletproof. Look it up. The rest of the build looks solid...except... I ride pneumatic. Urethane is too harsh at extended rides to be fun. The 6x3 "six shooters, make all the difference. You lose distance. But gain vastly improved traction and road dampening. Especially, after30+mph. Saves knee joint aches and pain. Besides, it's just plain dope looking. I haven't mentioned the "Project Zero" yet. Hmmmm.... Should I? (My new girlfriend, boys. Get your own!) I'm going to wait. A new vid is forthcoming.
