Thanks for the kind words Ben, I'm glad you like it! It looks so good with all gold pieces that aren't scratched up to hell and back haha. I never really thought about it until you brought it up but my obsession with alternate builds and combination totally came from those old Bionicle combi models! I actually initially wanted to make a literal statue but my brother convinced me some jank is worth the forward shoulder movement (I hope it really was worth it haha T_T).

Honestly, given more peices I have no doubt you could have easily fixed the minor jank and maybe have added leg articulation, but with the limitations it's beyond amazing, well done.

I've also built this model for all the same reasons. The official Lego set is ok, but this is shaped and proportioned so well that it really looks like Iron Man. I love this build and I can't really imagine it becoming much better (or how it could change to be any better)!

The lack of leg articulation kind of kills it for me because I at least would want the opportunity to have him on one knee or having one leg outstretched while the other is bent as just a cool flying pose, but it is a beautiful MOC. As for future characters to be made in this lineup, I think Groot's as close as you're going to get for a character with a face. I can see War Machine getting the treatment, Ant-Man and Wasp, even Starlord with his mask, but anything remotely human is just not going to happen, and the only reason why Groot can work is because of he is so abstract as an alien species. As for villains, maybe Ultron depending on which version they use, Warmonger, Vulture, Mysterio, Yellow Jacket (but he's not very iconic), I'd say Taskmaster, but the skull may be too detailed and also nobody really likes that version of the character. Basically, any character that's fully covered has potential, but I don't see it happening too often because the others just won't have the clout that Iron Man and Groot have. That doesn't mean that there aren't characters worthy of the treatment, but from business perspectives, and the legalities of using actors' likenesses beyond minifigures or one-off molds that are expensive, the pool of characters is limiting.

@@BenCossyOfficial I also just thought that you might be able to get away with a Korg and Meek combo pack. Super abstract, Korg's another one of those breakout side characters people love, he's made of rocks so LEGO can use that to their advantage, and Meek in his mech would also translate well, you just have to make his weird grubby bug body look good.

of course the system has limitless possibilities when building something, but I think Lego should bring back figures from ccbs and technic. firstly, because there is a certain system in their construction, and the one who assembles the figure can easily determine how he can build and improve the figure, because the details of the limbs, hands, feet, shields, and so on were made specifically for this. And if you try to assemble an action figure from the system, it will be very difficult, because there is no specific system in the system and we see just a bunch of bricks and tiles with which we have no single idea what to do with them. secondly - this is the detailing of the figure. no matter how well you make a figure from the system (unless you are a high-level creator, of course), its overall relief will remain square, because it is made of bricks and tiles, and every detail of bionicles and hf has different detailing, thanks to which even the worst the made figure will look good. I'm not saying that system is bad, but ccbs should stay alive!

I absolutely loved this moc... I bought all the sets I required last Friday, and it was built over the weekend. I also used some extra pieces from my own personal parts library to round off the back of the head more, add some leg articulation and I even built my own moc display stand for him so he'll look good next to my hulkbuster

It’s borderline pornographic just how compact the torso looks, and how it both wastes absolutely no space, with you being able to see every single detail. There’s no awkward angles or unrealistic looking joints, everything about this looks terrifyingly realistic.

Lego does pretty good sets like the one of optimus prime that im going to buy it on christmas but how does a random guy from the Internet can do a better thing like the exemple of this video or a guy that made a comic version of the lego optimus prime and he only usted the same peces that came with the set so now i am thinking "does lego do good sets or they only do them to let the people modify them"

LEGO sets require a lot more factors that MOCs don't. They need to be very sturdy so that they can be displayed, played with and so that they hold together with ease when moved. They have pretty rigorous testing for those factors. There can also be other factors like the licensed property that asks LEGO to make the set is asking LEGO to include specific factors or play features within the design brief. Also LEGO needs to work within different budgets and things. Plus I'm sure there's much more at play then the public is aware of. Regardless, yeah it's incredibly impressive what other AFOLs can do with the same pieces from a set haha I wouldn't be surprised if some designers want fans to modify it and leave room for creative interpretation
