Coastwatch follows Fishery Officers from The Ministry for Primary Industries, NZ Airforce and Navy personnel, and the Maritime Police. Greenstone gets up close and personal to find out what’s involved in patrolling and enforcing the law that protects our coastlines, water-ways and billion dollar Kai-moana industries.
We also follow the men and women volunteering for Northland Regions Coastguard, and the Northland Electricity Rescue Helicopter. Tasked with responding to mayday calls, medical emergencies, on-water breakdowns and accidents, they keep our waterways, and those on them, safe. The Maritime Police, along with the Police National Dive Squad, are also on high alert for any maritime emergencies.

The crayfish diver was a breath of fresh air, immediately putting his hands up & admitting his guilt. More hope for him in the future than those that never ever admit they are wrong

I hate people who decimate coastal sealife like that. That being said it's hard to be too critical when you see those disgusting ocean vessels dragnetting or worse massive swaths of the ocean and they never even get toldoff let alone fined/ stopped

@harrycurrie9664 as in it floats and did float for 3 months. Obviously not able to sail. But no1 could have known it wouldn't sink. So im glad they sought help when they needed it.

@@harrycurrie9664 Yes , really . Sails and rigging are intact . Fair weather sailors . Shouldn't be out there . Yacht stayed afloat for another 3 months . They put others at risk . Cost hundreds of thousands of $ .

Yes, you are right, they could have bobbed around in the ocean for 3 months then stepped ashore when they hit rocks.@@stewatparkpark2933

Unfortunately marine officers in South Africa are also generally worth nothing. The courts are also far too lenient with sentences across the world.

Bad English Grammar at 0:40 "The team are leaving nothing...". "Team" is a singular noun, not plural. Hence that should have been, "The team is leaving nothing...". Coast Rescue, you continually make the simplest and most easily corrected errors of grammar. WHY????

Because we are not all perfect in our English. Ask me, I know Afrikaans is my first language, or is it Afrikaans are. Just saying If English is your first language, it makes it so easy.
