Haha the ending is the sweetest part with those two :) Love how the elder one is pampering the younger one doing things just the way she wants with the younger one solemnly directing operations like a little general. Now I can say no sugar, medium and sugary if I ever visit Turkey or Greece! It's basically the same, made in the Balkans too the same way apparently with a few local/family specific differences like adding the coffee to warm/boiling water perhaps.

Don't be sorry I like the comments and always interested what others have to say. Thanks for the suggestion, I have quite a few Ghanaian recipes to film, I have done a few polls on my Instagram account and most said they prefered for me to make Cypriot recipe videos that is why I haven't filmed that many Ghanaian recipes. If you follow me on Instagram I do post step by step tutorials of my Ghanaian recipes and other recipes in my stories, if you sre interested in following it is @gg_mix Also I will definately make more Ghanaian recipes for You Tube 😊

Do you tell the future by looking at the coffee grinds in the cup? A Greek friend does this but we look for art or patterns just for fun. I gave her a briki and Venizelos coffee.

I had a question🙂 when you put the briki on the stovetop do you have to start stirring right away or can you let the water heat up a bit and let the sugar and coffee melt a bit and then start stirring or should you start stirring right away? Thanks for the recipe❤️
@gg_mix
@gg_mix 4 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome 😊 I start stirring straight away to agitate the coffee and sugar so it can dissolve quicker but Im guessing if you leave it for say for a minute and then start stirring it should be ok. You may have to stir a bit more because the coffee will be resting at the base of the briki so you get it all dissolved. If you try it let me know how you get on 🙂😊

ggmix thank you! One more question at the beginning did you start out with cold water or room temperature water?
@gg_mix
@gg_mix 4 жыл бұрын
@@edi9837 I used cold tap water in the video but had it ready before we started filming so it was probably at room temperature. I normally use the water straight from the cold tap and make the coffee straight away and it turns out great. Ive also used room temperature bottled water with the same results. Hope this helps. Let me know how you get on and if you have any more questions 😊

I am a Canadian living in Cyprus trying to master Cyprus Coffee, unfortunately my house only has a electric burner, which has the down side of not applying constant heat. should i still keep it at the lowest hear? also how long ish does it take for the coffee to be done usually?
@gg_mix
@gg_mix 5 жыл бұрын
Hiya, I've never made Greek coffee on an electric burner but have done it on charcoal (you can see it in our center parcs video) what I noticed was that it took much longer than on a gas burner but the result according to my husband was better because it was brewing longer so the flavour had more time to penetrate in. I'd suggest you use your lowest temperature setting on your burner and leave it to simmer slowly, don't worry about how long it takes just keep an eye on it and when the sides start to bubble turn the heat off and quickly get your coffee into your cup so you save as much of your kaimak as you cani. The coffee takes about 5 minutes from the time I stop stirring and it starts to bubble and on the charcoal it took about 10 minutes, the time isn't a problem, as long as the temperature is low and consistent you should end up with a lovely tasting coffee. I hope I've helped and if you have anymore questions just let me know. Also let me know how you get on (",)

Every time I make a Cyprus coffee I end up with coffee grounds in the foam, any advice on how to stop this from happening?
@gg_mix
@gg_mix 2 жыл бұрын
HI, try leaving the coffee to settle for a bit before drinking so all the grounds can settle to the bottom. Also make sure you have stirred in thoroughly before you leave it to form the kaimaki. Hope this helps 😊
