This is NOT the Ikariotikos music! As a consequence the dance steps are not synchronized with the music ! This music is related to another dance we call 'Ballos'. The fact that it is played in all the Greek festivals worldwide, does not change the fact it is 'Wrong Music' for this dance ! So you ask: What is the correct music? @@JimmyTheGreek2000 - I agree - this is the version most folks not from the Island know. Performing groups in America have all sorts of odd variants, including one with arm swings and a cute tilting of the head in the opening part. There are several good videos on KZbin of celebrations on Ikaría where there are no costumes or "audience", just good dancing.
