I know everything he said is meant as a joke, but I've been living outside of Greece for nearly a decade now and I've always had a chip on my shoulder due to this harmful stereotype that Greeks are lazy. We're the Mexicans of Europe. It cuts deep and I can't easily laugh about it. It especially angers me because most of the time it comes from snobby north Europeans with the cushiest jobs and lives. Yeah, go work in Greece for ten hours a day to get 650 euros with a 300 Euro rent and see if you like it, princess.

I am Italian and I love Greece. You don't have to tease your roots, they are the best things you have. Greece and Italy have built almost all of our Western world. The Anglo-Saxons only wrapped it in plastic. It has never happened to me to find restaurants with fake menus and lazy waiters in Greece. They simply let you enjoy dinner without bothering you every moment. In the same way, in Milan there is no one who sits like that to drink a coffee. In Milan, everyone is always in a rush and produces more money in that city than in all of Bavaria. But not even in the most remote villages of southern Italy, not even on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of August, have I ever seen someone sitting like that drinking coffee. It's okay to use stereotypes, but at least make sure you use the right ones !!

In the States, customer service in restaurants is based on tips, which obviously means that the waiters are paid based on their service to the customers. However, that also means that in most places, the goal is to get the people in and out of the place as quickly as possible in order to serve as many potential customers as possible. So, while you do get the waiter asking you a million times do you need anything, etc..the ultimate goal is to get a big tip and then get you out. In Italy, the waiters are paid a salary and do not depend on tips, thus they allow customers to sit back and enjoy their meals without running over to the table asking you if you need this or that and then attempt to get you out. I guess Locascio doesn't realize this and just likes to be waited on.

I understand that many things he says are for the purpose of the stand up comedy performance and in some extend they are funny indeed. HOWEVER. You can be funny without perpetuating stereotypes and generalisations of an entire population. According to the World Economic Forum with data from Eurostat 02/2018, Greeks have the longest working weeks with 42.3 hrs/week. And not only that, if you haven't realised the situation from your trips in Greece, they are seriously underpaid. The middle class that you so easily make fun of and describe as the laziest has been practically destroyed from the constant reduction of salaries and the unbearable taxes. And I can personally testify for that since I belong to one of the few middle class families still standing. And I get it, of course there is a huge, continuous problem with a big percentage of the public sector of the country but that doesnt mean that everyone's lazy. And it's SO FRUSTRATING when they keep telling you you're lazy or a thief just because SOME OTHER PEOPLE ARE.

As they arrived a little early-but not too much, they put their stuff in the bus and do some snack shopping. The Turk and the Greek do their shopping fast and arrive at the bus conveniently, but the German...arrives at last minute-in fact we were a little worried that she'd miss the bus while we waited. So much for the punctuality stereotypes.

When It comes to what He said about Italians, at this point I'm not even offended anymore cause Northern Italians call us lazy all the time and they're not comedians. They say that we're lazy to offend us. At least He's a comedian...

Guys, as a fellow Greek, why are you getting upset? It's a joke - we've been satirizing ourselves since Theophanes and you're upset over a common stereotype? If the fisherman caught 10 kilos of barbounia, your eating-off-the-frozen-pacific-crap ass will eat fresh fish, if you are lucky. I also invite you to work our 10hour shifts in the Greek private sector, and once you come back home from an exhausting day, have some random australian guy (that is "greek-italian" 'cause that's hot) half the globe away telling you "ah..greek people are lazy. I would know! I've been there once!"

Greek waiters are super fast and super wffucient, greek restaurants have huge menus and waiters traditionally knew them by heart and also remwmbered the orders my heart knay times and they were fast both cleaning plates making tables and taking orders and delovering non stop and also with very bad pay many times. Greek waiters are super efficient and greek menus have everything except if finished because wveything is fresh and could have gone within the day of there was greay demand but there many other things except for the imeras part which is the day part woth every day having different things. He gor confused by wrong stereotypes here which can be true for some greek workers in certain areas but definitely not waiters

The problems with this video are a few , starting with the non funny joke about Tunis in Tunisia , why is it funny ? And Brasília in Brasil ? And than making a joke about people in Milan being lazy , is not offensive , is just not accurate , not true . He could have picked other towns and it would have been more funny , there is plenty to chose from .
