I tend to focus infantry early as it upgrades militia and cav are too easily countered until you can afford to mass them up.

That's kinda the thing though, cavalry, especially heavily invested cavalry, don't lose to slingers. Boit heavily invested in cav upgrades while the Set player failed to respond by investing heavily in his spearmen, that's a big part of the reason why Boit won this game. The Set player also made some pretty questionable plays (that meteor use was just plain bad), but for the most part he lost because he invested into Migdol units and then proceeded to not build any(some camel riders could have also put in work if he got them out in time). Alternatively he could have just invested much harder into his infantry. While spearmen are very cost efficient against hippius, if the numbers are anywhere near close the hippius will win simply because they are higher quality units.

@@webbowser8834Joe played terrible here. 3 tc boom as Egyptian v greek is just plain stupid, the advantage egypt has is for a fast heroic or mythic timing attack and overwhelm the greeks slow eco. No idea what Joe was expecting to happen here

Didn't he start with a bunch of spearmen that the hippeus pretty much wrecked? (with the help of some toxotes which he countered with slingers). Like he prolly overdid it on the slingers eventually, but it seemed to me like you were pretty much just directly countering each other slingers>toxotes>spearmen>hippeus>slingers

Yeah he was building the correct counter units, but he didn't pick gods that improved those units, so the counter units were insufficient

I don't get why at the beginning of the game you Boit's moving 4 vils to wood and then when the're almost full builds a granary. he will loose all the wood right? Because he didn't drop it first

converting the army is sounds easy but before that u have to convert ur economy. he go brr wood and gold unf :D he has like 10 to 15 farms max 20 and its not even enough to get armory upgrades and line upgrades for spearman right

Attys are the best Gods right now, and in fact Oranos is literally the best god in the game (not said by me, but by all top players). This cuz of the sky passages
