The expressions on the faces of those listening to. Oliver's speeches are hilarious.

Eddie Albert was one of the most gifted actors. He essentially plays the straight man to every single other person on this show and just shines in that role.

I liked when they started adding the fife music and someone would comment on it.

This and the Beverly Hillbillies were both in the top ten in the ratings at the time.

@@lilajagears8317 both shows were not a top ten show by the time they were canceled. don’t spread misinformation. Beverly Hillbillies was ranked 33rd and Green Acres was ranked 34th in the 1970-71 season.

@@markjackson6431 Did you actually say "dont spread misinformation?". Maybe you should take a xanax and calm down ( the Beverly Hillbillies according to the Nielson ratings) was the 9th most watched show of the 1970/71 season.

@@lilajagears8317 yeah it was no where near the top my guy. maybe the 9th most on CBS. but it was not in the top 30 across all 3 networks. again you’re spreading misinformation

@@markjackson6431 You have way too much time on your hands. You sound like a loony leftist who calls anyone they disagree with of "spreading false information" even when the facts say otherwise.

Arnold turned the TV down, but then he gave Mr. Douglas a dirty look. The consumate actor.

How could the actors keep from cracking up during filming? Kimball and Ziffel were the funniest, but they all had a different, whacky style that fit together. And Haney- oh man.

Funniest line from the series. Haney explaining the 21 gun salute the town was giving Lisa's mother. See it: "Lisa's Mudder Comes for a Visit"

That to me was the funniest part of the show, when they would play "Yankee Doodle" behind Oliver's pompous pontificating. Reminds me of Jack Webb and Adam West.

The first few times Oliver delivered his soapbox speech, they were not accompanied by fife. The speech skit 'evolved' and music was an added enhancement. the fife and drum play Yankee Doodle.
