Scott Adkins is in "One Shot", which is a good, intense movie, they should review this one. He's also in one "Universal Soldier" movie, which isn't realy good, but he was good in there. And that CCP propaganda movie where he's the bad guy, or good guy, depends on your point of view. In general I think he's quite underrated as an action-star, I even dare to say he can act, if given something to work with that's not just KICK PUNCH BLOCK.

Best depiction of autism you will find in hollywood. Hollywood needs to stop going to autism speaks for references, because every time they do they get stereotypes from people who don't have it. @crazedmonk8u
@crazedmonk8u Жыл бұрын
Him being on the spectrum is a pretty good fan theory. I never thought of it like that but i can see it! i took it as more of living by a code. John is a simple man, he did his duty, he got out and wants to be left alone. he got his revenge and walked away, but then someone pulled a blood oath on him and got him involved in some deep shit that kept unraveling into more and more. John was hyper-focused on taking out the people who kept coming for him and didn't say much because well, there isn't much to say and when he popped that dude in the continential who thought he pulled a fast one on john, he knew he was ready to burn it all to the ground. My theory was he was a cold blooded killer, a monster, kinda like a drone. no emotion, just do your job. he locked that away when he met his wife, started feeling normal again, gained emotions, etc. then shit happened and it had to come out again. him not talking was him reverting back to his old ways and he had to show everyone that he's john wick, i may be retired but you should still fear me and leave me the hell alone. and him dying at the end was perfect since 1. it ended the franchise and set john off on a good note ( i believe Keanu Reeves said this was his last movie in the franchise) and 2. it harpens back to the cycle of revenge with the post credit scene. John got what he wanted and found peace, but due to his actions someone else is set on the cycle of revenge.
@billbill6094
@billbill6094 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think people are forgetting he had a number of "normal" conversations when he didn't have to directly kill someone. I see people saying he was naive and being taken advantage of, which just isn't ever shown in the movies. And a pretty shallow view of autism in general. He's always either working towards revenge, or finding a way out. When he has to kill a high table member, Winston, or defeat Bill Skarsgard in a duel, he always knows that his actions are benefitting someone else, he does it because it's the smart play in his situatuon until he can find a safe way out. If he didn't fulfill the marker or lie to the Elder about killing Winston and coming back under the high table, he would've been dead before this movie.

I always felt that John Wick was a "simple minded" person. That's why you can see from the first movie how naive he was in viewing his life and wanting to be left alone while people either took advantage of him or kept coming at him both physically and psychologically.
@billbill6094
@billbill6094 Жыл бұрын
John Wick was pretty spot on when people wanted to use his skills though? It's literally that he can't stay retired lest he face death. In the second movie, he had a marker. In the third, he was excommunicated with the biggest bounty in the world on his head. There was never a point where he's directly working towards someone else's goal without knowing it. And he usually betrays/gets revenge on them when he's free.

@ikiruyamamoto1050
@ikiruyamamoto1050 Жыл бұрын
Ugh, you say this is the best Wick movie, and then spend 48 minutes making fun about how stupid and impossible it is. But, style is style. That's NOT the way Wick started (well it always had style). It started with him getting his arse kicked, and his dog killed. It then segued in to him being tactical, sneaky, highly trained, and determined. When he got shot, he went down (even though he had a vest). When he got stabbed, he bled and needed medical attention. When he gets hit INDIRECTLY by an SUV, he goes down and is captured. Like a lot of sequels, everything gets bigger, louder, and dumber. It was like watching someone play a video game on god mode...highly repetitive and ultimately boring. The movie was too long by half! You didn't even bother to mention no police responded to a massive, and long lasting, gun fight/car rally in the heart of Paris with civilians all around. Finally, Wick is NOT "on the spectrum." Remember from the original, he has many friends, loves his wife, and....talks (some). The lack of talking is partially because they've stuffed it with sooooo much action (and it isn't like he's known for Schwarzenegger type lines), and partially an homage to so many Clint Eastwood type spaghetti westerns where "the man with no name" talks very little. Anyway, it's all flashy artificial spectacle, nothing more....like an amusement park ride...or playing a video game.
@billbill6094
@billbill6094 Жыл бұрын
IDK if I'd say he's on the spectrum, he basically just has Keanu Reeves speech patterns, but as a "quiet badass" as opposed to the friendly talkative guy Keanu himself is. But if you want to see an assassin on the spectrum, and honestly one of the best portrayald of autism you will ever see in hollywood, then The Accountant is something you should check out. Great action, not as good as John Wick but amazing still, there's even one of the same bad guys that both John Wick and Robert McCall killed in their first movies. The story is a lot nore nuanced and tighter though. More human focused as opposed to underworld focused. And the depiction of ASD is much better than that "I am a surgeon Dr. Han" crap autism speaks peddles. That group has a history of stereotypes and autism discrimination behavior, yet hollywood usually always consults them first.

John Wick 4 for me just doesn't hold up to modern action standards from Hong Kong films. When Donnie Yen did Raging Fire the fight choreography was much tighter and better action. In this film you can see people waiting their turn to kick someone or throw a punch and there's a pause. It's painful. In Hong Kong they don't do it like that. Love Donnie Yen, love Scott Adkins, didn't like this movie.

I know I’m in the minority but I hated JW4, easily the worst in the series. Every fight vs every single bad guy was protracted with the armour deflecting, a clunky ass jujitsu takedown, etc, etc, etc. It got repetitive and monotonous quick. Movie was way too long and don’t get me started on the ridiculous blind badass. I enjoyed the first 3 movies, this better be the last one 🙏 Edit: it is worth watching for the Dragons Breath shotgun birds eye view alone. Best scene by a damn mile.

I'm with you, I thought it was terrible. The entire sequence in Japan (first 45 minutes of the movie) was completely pointless. A lot of the action was really drawn-out, and Keanu was looking slow, especially when they cut between him and the Japanese girl flipping around all over the place. They also cheapened John Wick by having multiple characters who could fight like him. There were several rehashed scenes from the previous movies (e.g. night club fight where he gets thrown off a balcony). I couldn't work out what the point of the black guy with the dog was. Then I realised they probably wanted Halle Berry to come back, but she couldn't or wouldn't, so they split her into two pointless characters - the dog guy and the blind guy (who is forbidden from seeing his daughter like Halle in the 3rd film). I like the first three movies and make a point of watching them every year, so I was really disappointed that the 4th one sucked, although to be honest, I thought it probably would.

I would never in my life run a 1.75 lb trigger. I shoot a CZ p09 with a 7.5lb DA, and 3.5lb SA. I put ten accurate rounds in a target in 2.52 seconds. You do not need a 1.75 trigger. Way to dangerous for a service/defensive pistol.

John Wick might have PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified). This describes someone with some autistic traits but not enough for a full ASD diagnosis. He has narrow interests, hyperfocus, fixation with routines, social challenges, and some discomfort with eye contact. He doesn’t show hypersensitivity to light, sounds, or textures. He doesn’t seem to have communication challenges or repetitive behaviors. So, PDD-NOS is possible. The main thing people should understand about PDD-NOS is that it isn’t “a little bit of autism.” It can be a high level of one, two, or more autistic traits, and none of other traits. It can be very difficult to diagnose and just as hard to live with.

The autism theory does make sense. I'm low spectrum. So is my daughter. I trained for years, to be able to fight. It didn't work in the cage. But, I go full Forrest Gump at a Black Panther Party, whenever I'm actually in danger, or need to protect someone. Just doesn't feel right, hitting someone for sport.

The ballistic vest that guy had looks like a FAB Defence Masada and they are like $400 for IIIA. Honestly not the worst idea ever, $400 for quick deploy body armor that also carries a handgun and several mags.

ah the wick movies got worse as they went on, glad its over. 1 was 11/10 2 was 8/10 3 was 5/10 and 4 was 3/10 maybe lower no focus on story like the first 2 wick was a fuckin side character, do i even need to talk about the bows and swords? like it wasnt even logical it was just showy and didnt even look good. i could go on but i noticed the movies go down since 2 when they did the suppressor in the PACKED TO THE BRIM PUBLIC train station gun fight where somehow no one got shot nor did anyone see a gun or hear it lmao

Sean: "I promise you all the people buying the Pit Viper are not John Wick" True...but have you seen the John Wick movies? there's 7 billion on the planet, apparently 1 billion of those people are assassins. perhaps that's why the Pit Viper is backordered. Abel is probably is secret assassin but nobody knows yet....just hiding in plain sight

I believe the backpack/vest combo is a Masada Bullet-Proof Backpack & Front Panel, or also known as the Masada Valkyrie Bulletproof Backpack. I remember seeing a old video like 10 years ago it was designed for like low vis police and things like that.

Eh. Liked Scott Adkins and Donnie Yen in this film. Gave it some HK credence. However, after the 1st episode the John Wick movies became too cartoonish. Adding bullet proof clothing is like adding time travel to SciFi shows. There's no consequences so nothing has any real weight.

John Wick's ending is perfect. When the first film begins we see a broken man, grieving. His recently deceased wife had arranged for him to receive a posthumous gift from her: a dog. And a Russian comes and kills his dog and steals his car. Perhaps, if he had only taken the car, nothing would have happened, but what John Wick does not forgive is the death of the dog. During 4 John Wick movies he loses friends along the way. First the character played by Willem Dafoe and in the last one Charon dies, the character of Lance Reddick, whom Wick considered a friend. Then Shimazu, his friend, who owns the Tokyo hotel, dies. And he finds out that his friend Caine, the blind samurai, was told that for his daughter to live he must kill John Wick. There are loyalties that go beyond the Table. Shimazu sacrifices himself for John Wick and the hunter decides not to continue hunting Wick when he saves his dog. Wick lost his dog and prefers to save the dog from the man who wants to kill it rather than get rid of a threat. And in the end, the duel arrives. John Wick makes the decision to sacrifice himself. He tells Winston what he wants his grave to say, refrains from firing his third bullet, and ultimately kills the Marquess, saving his friend and his daughter. Everyone gets what they want, even Wick, who is tired and wants to meet his wife again. Therefore, his death was not in vain, it was the best way to close his story. Greetings from Buenos Aires.

I just figured it out... the whole John Wick series... is Neo getting trained. It is when they are training him to fight the agents of the Matrix. Each movie becomes progressively unreal, because the program first trains him with reality, then begins to break the rules of physical reality to better prepare him for his fights where he completely reshapes the rules of physics in the matrix. In regards to the Pit Viper... check out when Joe Rogan went to train with it. It is pretty mind-blowing. But... it is not meant for a normal consumer. It is a collection piece or rich person gun.
