This show is great, honestly. It gets better and more insane with every season. It's 100% a guilty pleasure with lots of gun fights, hand to hand fight scenes and tons of sex. It's Spartacus set in modern times, and basically expressly designed as for dudes to vicariously live out the ultimate male fantasy, The CAG dude fucks a LOT of hot chicks. He's basically James Bond if it wasn't PG-13

Season 1 of Strike Back could be better. When it gets to seasons two up to four, it is pretty good for action and just a good action show with many tactics in it. These two guys made this series really good; it is a shame that they moved on and added more people, making it ridiculous afterwards.

I always considered only the first two seasons ( those with Porter) to be the best. Those were pretty sober and believable. After his murder it kind of slid into being too "cool" with Scott and Stonebridge. But S3 and S4 were still very good.

Glad they finally got round to doing this show. I hope they watch more of it especially with the bigger gunfights that come later on. Also from what i understand from interviews i have watched (including with US guys who worked with the SAS and SBS) they used to run lights instead of night vision especially in the 90s and early 2000s, given that the advisors are ex UKSF guys that might be why they did that in the show.

It’s been awhile since I watched it but Scott was recruited for two very specific reasons. John Porter (guy in the video) and Scott had worked extensively, developing the code Porter used with only three people having working knowledge of it. The other is the villain worked with them back in the day but only they had any idea of what he looked like, so, he’d wound but being key to it. I know you probably know this, but I watched this show way too many times to not share. Also, John Porter has his own season, which was effectively the very first season of the whole strike back series. It had Andrew Lincoln as the CO and was pretty good. I recommend it purely for a single scene in the first episode where Porter has to get creative with weapon concealment, which always makes me chuckle.

I still want to see you guys do some older movies, namely The Wild Geese, Dogs of War, and The Final Option. The show was on Showtime, so that explains the sex scenes, as a lot of their shows had a lot of nudity and sex. IIRC it was primarily filmed in South Africa. As a side note the actor playing the Brit is an American, and the Ex CAG guy is an Aussie actor.

@CoffeeFiend19 ай бұрын
I'm quite glad they start on "Season 2" as the show basically has eras. Season 2-5 was a reboot of season 1 and shares almost no resemblance to it beyond a few references to Porter throughout and a very short scene at the start. Then season 6 reboots it again with a new team. Most people regard Scott and Stonebridge as proper Strike Back. It was always quite silly but it was a weird blend of being 50/50 silly and probably the most accurate SF portrayal on tv at the time but it was inconsistent and would slide between the two... It would be utter realism then quackery, then back to realism, then gooftastical.
@timmooney75289 ай бұрын
The prequel series to this show is normally listed as Strike Back Origins. It is a pre-Cinemax Sky only production featuring Richard Armitage (the guy being executed in the beginning.) He was the main character in the first season, and before a second season was discussed, he was already working on the Hobbit films. He only appears in the first episode for continuity to the Sky-only series.

But, you know, turn the subtitles on guys.

Hey, I know it's been months and months, and there's a bunch of comments, but... (just an fyi) this is the beginning of the 2nd season. The first season, consisting of 6 episodes, was quite different. It starred Richard Armitage (who was the prisoner killed in the video), he had to leave after the 1st season do to his commitment to The Hobbit trilogy (he starred as Thorin). They made many changes on and off screen between s01 and s02, but continued the premise of a British Intelligence (MI6) unit called Section 20, recruiting an UKSF soldier to be the boots on the ground guy, only now, instead of a lone former SAS guy, they now have an active SBS guy, partnered with a former Delta guy to help draw in American audiences (though the American is actually played quite convincingly by an Australian actor). Also, a pair of females were added, a UKSF NCO and a DEA agent, along with various officers/COs, who join in quite a bit. It ran for 4 seasons with these guys, tentatively ending after s05. Then two years later it was revived with a new cast, two main guys, an SAS operator and a Delta operator, but also a female operator from Australia's SASR and they're led by a UKSF Recon Regt. captain, another female, leading the team of four, until the next season when they added another guy, a UKSF colonel, who was then in charge. It ran three more seasons for a total of 8, before finally wrapping up. There is sometimes talk of it coming back again, either with more seasons or a feature film, but nothing official yet. Annnd that's about it...
@rageagaintstheNWOАй бұрын
Ex CAG guy was discharged from Delta Force because he stumbled into some conspiracy crap while he was in Iraq, asked too many questions. You know, the whole WMD thing. Watch the show and pay attention to the story to not ask stupid questions. Also, there are many scenes in season one when bad guys just running around corners getting dropped and you can see a pile of corpse forming in one spot lmao, if you want to cringe and roll your eyes until it rolls back in to your skulls, watch the real first season, with Richard Armitage and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln)
@danielvillarreal66103 ай бұрын
If my Reptilian Brain recalls correctly, the Delta Force vet had been railroaded out of the Army and hence he was in Thailand trying to survive. The SBS guy was ordered to find him because he and John Porter had been involved in a mission with British Special Operations forces-something like that-and since Porter had been KIA, the American had some pieces of intel that the British needed. The Commander sent the SBS guy to find him and bring him in.
