I have listened to a Green Day song every single day from the age of 6 (now 18) as every single family member of mine is a Green Day fan, we even go on family days out to their concerts haha. I was in a doctors appointment when this song came out and I actually asked the doctor to wait so I could listen to it because I was that excited to hear it, I ended up being the 8th person to watch this video. I have never been so in love with a celebrity/band, I've had the chance to meet so many celebrities but I honestly couldn't care less about any of them other than Green Day, I'm so proud of how far they're come and I'm so grateful to live in a time where Green Day exists, and I'm especially thankful to my 2 awesome parents who brought me up listening to them. Long live the Kings!!! Really don't know why I felt the need to write that soppy paragraph

Those that say this sucks are either only fans of American Idiot, Uno, Dos, Tre, and 21st century breakdown albums. The other is the fan of the old Green Day when they were more punk like insomniac, Nimrod, and Dookie, or Kerplunk-- you get the point. Old vs. New. I personally love love all of Green Day, a lot of their old stuff but their new songs (newer) had me surprised and I actually really liked them. In 2018, I heard this song on the radio. I was dozing off between routes working as a bus driver. I liked the way it sounded, and I did not catch the name of it. I was humming it that entire week and tuning into the radio station to see if they played it again. They tend to replay the music programming, but on this week, they didn't. Since that day, I have been searching. Last night, I threw on a random music playlist built from my favorites (which also includes Green Day). I FOUND IT. The end of that little dilemma must be a sign of better things to come; I just pray it is a sign of brighter days. Please bring me rest, for I have found peace finding the song I missed for so long.

What cracks me up the most is that many of you commenters are under the age of 25! I first had the pleasure of seeing Green Day in 1990, that is TWENTY SIX years ago! They were doing the "pop-punk" thing when EVERYONE had moved on from it, and YEARS before Blink 182, and the thousands of others they would later influenced came along. They still have mostly the same sound from when I saw them all those years ago, and bought their first 7"(look it up kids), they have matured, and experimented with other sounds, but they STILL sound like Green Day! They aren't or have they never tried to "reinvent the wheel". They play rock n' roll influenced by The Ramones, The Clash, and The Who, and they STILL do it quite well. oh, and BTW the Uno/Dos/Tres records were great, they only shitty records they ever did were American Idiot, and the other one after that. Go back and listen to Kerplunk, if you doubt that these guys aren't the real deal.

Yep. Blondie and The Talking Heads were considered punk before they hit it big. It's about attitude and not rules. Those 2 bands forged their way to the top by playing CBGB's with the Ramones and other punk bands. Green Day grew up playing on the Berkely punk scene. Great bands always progress.
