Green Day: FULL SHOW @ The Echoplex 4/18/24

WHAT A NIGHT!
Dream come true to see one of the most influential bands to me in such an intimate setting. Getting the ticket by the skin of my teeth was one of the craziest things I have ever done. They decided to test out their setlist for the upcoming stadium tour tonight, which was cool, just mayyyybeee wanted a little extra special sauce to differ from the stadium tour I already have tickets too. Nevertheless, I got to see one of my favorite albums ever in American Idiot performed in full 10 feet from my face! Jamming out to these tracks was such a treat and a privilege and I am so happy I was able to go to this show! The crowd was rouuudy so apologies for the black screens while I was getting crowd surfed over lol.

Yes, 50 isn't old, but you can't actually compare yourself 20 years ago from when you were 30, versus to when you're 50, but you can see here that they're still so energetic, and very good vocals too, that's what makes it impressive.

Summer will at least be 2,5 or i can even imagine 3 hours. They play two albums +other hits and a few ,,surprise“. AND have to take a few breaks 😅 they really planned sonething huge for this summer. Makes sense when they‘re celebrating two of the biggest albums of all time

They'll definitely do more songs on the tour. I reckon they'll probably open with TADIKM, Know Your Enemy ... and other songs they'll include that aren't on this set list are songs like Hitchin' A Ride (a non-extended version), Brain Stew, maybe a Still Breathing and 21 Guns. Could even surprise us with some deep cuts like 2000 Light years... hell, we might even get a Trilogy song or even Father Of All or Graffitia. Fuck, they have so many good songs to choose from haha

@RightFirework they might pull out Youngblood if they had any shows in Oakland 🤣 if they didn't have these two big anniversary albums to play all the way through I could see them having epic set lists, the setlists on the 2021-22 tour era got pretty stale. Like, they didn't need to do a cover of KISS, that Pollyanna song... I think they need to drop Knowledge and perhaps get a kid on stage to play a different song on guitar. King For A Day is fun but they've been doing that same shtick since 2002, as much as I love it I feel like they could drop it. That usually goes for at least 10mins, there's no way they're including it in this upcoming show...

Wish they leaned into it like green day version of eras tour etc. adding 25-35 mins for 21century breakdown title track 21 guns, 99 revolutions, nuclear family, brain stew, jaded, walking contradiction, waiting, minority, nice guys finish last, hitchin a ride (short version), 2000 light years away, and good riddance as an encore closer

I'd imagine this isn't going to be the exact setlist, though I would imagine that Dookie would be first and American Idiot would wrap up the main set. I'm thinking they'll either open with some of the other hits or Dookie, then play some other hits and newer songs between the 2 albums. I would personally like to see Saviors be the opener, and have the encore include Minority and Good Riddance.

I'd be happy with that. I'd really like good riddance played for sure. I'm also not looking at any more setlists as I want to be somewhat surprised if they tweak it up a bit.

@@stevewilson5402 Oh absolutely. Good Riddance is almost certainly a staple for the tour as it has been on the actual full scale tours since the Rev Rad tour. I remember I saw them in Cincinnati on that tour, and I had been watching their sets as it changed from the promo tour the year before. The problem is, the setlist didn't change once they really got underway in the States, it didn't change for a few shows so I decided that I would stop looking hoping it would change by the time I saw them like a month or 2 later. Sadly it did not change until after I saw them. I still had a great time and it was my favorite concert until 2022 but that had an influence on me going forward. That 2022 show was Bon Jovi in Nashville, and god damn am I glad I didn't look ahead of time. I got one song spoiled for their first few shows by their YT channel so I unsubbed until after I saw them to avoid more spoilers. By that point they had stopped playing that song anyway, but it is amazing going in blind and not knowing what to expect. That show would've been a pretty big surprise even if I had watched ahead of time since they switched it up for their last show of the tour, but it's still a good idea and it's fun to see how the sets evolved and changed after the fact. Don't think I'll manage to see Green Day this year sadly, but I hope we'll get at least one or two shows live streamed like the Hella Mega tour anyway.

Look you didn't hear it from me. But any venue that uses metal detectors you can walk through won't pick it up. So if you just leave it in your pocket they won't see it and it won't get beeped. Then it's so small that no one can tell you to put it away
