Yeah, their energy is undeniable. I think the criticism they got (aside from Fred being a dick more often than not in the past) is the juvenile lyrics, as they never moved past those. It's a shame because they are great musicians and they deserve more recognition.

Saw Linkin Park, Metallica and Fred Durst live in St Louis many moons ago. Linkin Park was over modulated and generally sounded like they needed to fire their board guy. Metallica was there going through the motions and put on a half assed show compared to the other times I had seen them live. Fred Durst hit the stage and burned that f'in place down. I have never seen anyone with as much energy and enthusiasm for a crowd as he had, and that day convinced me that he is a true performer, and is definitely in it for the crowd.

Players who can come up with that, especially more than once, have an intelligence regarding what to do, what not to do, that can't be attained by practice. Give a regular guy enough time and hard work and he will probably get good at shredding though.

The end of this is awesome! Just goes to show the power and enduring legacy of Nirvana and that song! The crowd morphs into a 90’s grunge crowd going bonkers, the band is totally into it. I like to think Kurt was looking down, thinking it was cool, and has come to understand his true worth.
