I was in the CD store. I picked up !uno!.... Pondered for a few minutes, and put it down. Based on this song, however, !Dos! has already secured a permanent spot on my shelf. God damn, this song is great.

Well anybody can be punk. It's the things you believe in, stand up for and do that truly define you. I consider Green Day punk because of their "we don't give a fuck what you think" attitude that they've kept for the past 25 years, and the fact that they have so much of a variety of styles to choose from. Whether it be their old stuff, or their new stuff now, there's something for every fan, new and old. It's all about the attitude man. They never lost it, so that's why i consider them punk.

I'm saying even though they're not exactly the most hardcore band out there, they are still punk. Sure their new stuff isn't as hard as it was in the 90's, but they know that, and don't care what critics have to say. Billie said himself he doesn't read what critics have to say about them, and they don't "try to be punk". They just as you said it, try to be good song writers. That to me makes them even more punk simply because they continue to do there own thing.

I was a fan of Green Day, til like 2 years ago, is not like I don't like them I really do but I like others band more ... well the thing is that I'm impresseded, this sounds like those old songs they made, like before American Idiot, Green Day, you're coming to the good old days, I liiike that!! I hope you know that Billie does most of the backing vocals on all their records, even the ones sung by Mike and the rest live. It's pretty obvious to hear it's his voice, but both Mike and Tré are usually credited with backing vocals as well, so I'm assuming that Billie is just loudest in the mix, but Mike and Tré records as well, to give it a richer sound. It's a pretty normal studio trick for the lead singer to do the harmonies as well, as a voice harmonize better with itself.

There are no rules in punk rock. In order to be considered punk, you must either claim it when you start out, or actually play punk music to get noticed as such. Green Day never claimed it. They were given the label by the fans.

As good as Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning still sound today these albums are all going on 15-20 years old. These are different artists, for better or worse, depending on the listener. I've listened to Green Day since Dookie came out and have loved every record through thick and thin. I love every song off of Uno, 21st Century Breakdown, Warning,all of their supposed "crap".Maybe it's because im loyal, or because I'm easy to please, or maybe it's just because Green Day will always kick ass.
