I’ve been playing for thirty years and I truly appreciate what you are doing in taking the time to present this content. Very methodical and deliberate in presentation and makes this otherwise somewhat intimidating topic digestible. I’m interested in compensating you for this lesson so…?

Thank you the comment Albert. That’s the idea re trying to make digestible, ass you say it can be an intimidating topic! That’s very kind re donation. I'm a piano player. However, your analysis of the progression using a guitar applies to the piano as well. What intrigues me the most is something I've never heard anyone mention is the 2 5 1 applied to other keys....this blew my mind, well not literally...LOL.

Once you start recognising these familiar chord patterns in others keys it will make learning songs much easier.....

Andy, its a bII-Maj7 (Neapolitan subdominant) not bII-7 chort at 02:35, isn't it ?
@jazzguitarwithandy2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I don’t think many jazzers would look at it like that. I think that Neapolitan chord is normally in first inversion too (F in the bass). I think maybe I should have labelled it bIIMaj7 rather than bII7.
