Here's a video of me playing the organ solo from Sugarloaf's hit recording "Green Eyed Lady." I used a Nord Electro 2 rack for the organ sound. The leslie effect is the on board simulator in the Nord. I recorded it in stereo. Nothing else. Left hand guitar sound is from the Kurzweil PC2x.
Over the years I've transcribed a lot of classic rock songs. Check out other songs I've covered on my KZbin channel along with performances with various artists I've worked with.
I transcribed these charts myself. They are usually not the complete songs, just the interesting parts of the songs featured in the video. If you'd like a copy send $50 and the name of the song you want to PayPal.me/TZvo...

Great work man.. I loved the 4ths trills.. and of course the 1/2 step slide ups into the right note.. This song has one of if not the greatest organ solo ever recorded.. At the end, when he toggles the Hammond on/off switch, and the pitch starts falling as the tone wheels slow down, was pure brilliance.. I miss the days when I had a B4 and Leslie in a rock band.. but it was a back breaker to move..

Nice to hear the solo reproduced so accurately, without the difficult parts being replaced by approximate idiomatic phrases. Thanks for posting!

It is the best rendition on all of KZbin. I was a long time Union sound engineer. I ran sound for most every major band you have ever heard of, including main board at many Olympic events. If you had just a little more dynamics it would go from great to phenomenal. The greats I had the pleasure of running sound for really slammed their keys harder than normal. And their finger tips hurt like hell. Especially Kansas. He would do handstands on his keyboard while hitting 6 key chords! I love what you do. Like I said, the best on KZbin. Add some painful dynamics and up your game. Take it from a lifelong engineer. Just trying to help and give constructive criticism. I ran sound for this very band at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel and they blew the roof off of the place hahaha. Much love.

Slamming keys on an organ doesn't add any dynamics. I am a tendinitis victim, no extra points for slamming the keys. The harder you hit the keys the slower your dexterity. Fact.

I use a PC2 for my bottom keyboard for years, but I can't get those B3 sounds from the KB3 bank to write in multi patches. How did you do that? I use my Triton Classic for all my Hammond sounds though, and it's great, because it feels like my old B3, and the keys are the same size, instead of full size semi-weighted piano keys. Which KB3 sound is that...Keith's Revenge? It says Ext Green Eyed Lady on your screen...

Figure out the highest figure you'd pay, and email me at tzkeyz88@gmail.com I've sold a few, a charge a lot. This one will be high priced because there is not other transcription available that I know of. Few people are OCD enough to attempt it. :-).

I revisit you because you are so good. But those dynamics are something to be desired. Listen to how hard he is hitting those keys. It has to hurt the fingertips a little bit. But I dont see you hurting your finger tips. If you want to move someone's soul, you must be willing to slam those keys man. loved your playing but I feel you are missing the slam dynamic. Please, add dynamics and hit the keys as hard as you can and watch people get an automatic rise out of your playing. You are excellent. But you are missing dynamics. Volume control. I have run every major band in the world so listen to me. I love your playing!
@TZKeyz
@TZKeyz 5 жыл бұрын
Slam dynamic? Hmmmm. I'm a tendinitis victim, I deliberately play as light as possible to get the job done. It doesn't matter how hard you hit the keys when you are playing organ. The harder the hit, the less dexterity and control you have. As to your comment about having "run every major band in the world" I have played with many major bands and musicians in the world. Was there a point to be made?
