@@Mr.Ekshin I really hope that you are joking. Using music to lure deer out so that you can hunt them is cruel.
@Mr.Ekshin2 жыл бұрын
@@islandprincess9666 - Pretty much all hunters, whether man or beast, use various methods to lure their prey. What makes harp music "cruel"? Or are you one of those weird folks who think predators and prey aren't part of the natural process? Do you wanna know how deer die when there are no human hunters around? Probably not, because it sure isn't peaceful.
@islandprincess96662 жыл бұрын
@@Mr.Ekshin It’s a myth that hunting is needed to control the deer population. Always follow the money. Selling hunting licenses makes money for people. Before hunters were hunting deer nature controlled the deer population just fine. You said that it’s horrible the way that deer die if they are not hunted, but weaker animals getting sick and dying or being killed by their natural predators is how nature works. Hunting actually increases the deer population. It also causes deer to panic during hunting season and stay on the outskirts of the woods instead of deep in the woods because that’s where the hunters and they are running away from the hunters. Flushing the deer out of the woods causes them to stay on the outskirts of the woods which are usually next to the roads and then they jump out in front of cars. Instead of having a knee jerk reaction and calling people names be please open minded and do your own research instead of believing what hunters automatically say to defend hunting. I don’t go back and forth with people on the internet. You have a blessed day. Here is a link to a KZbin video called: “Is deer hunting really necessary for population control”. That explains it too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWSXq4Cmh9hnoKM
@Mr.Ekshin2 жыл бұрын
@@islandprincess9666 - You're touting anti-hunting myths. If deer herds aren't culled, MOST of the herd starves and/or freezes to death come winter. I'm not just saying that, it's reality, and it happens in the places that ban hunting. So yeah... the herds in places that allow hunting ARE bigger. The money raised from hunting licenses helps pay the salaries of forest rangers. And those rangers determine how large the herds are... how much food supply there is for the deer... and how many need to be culled so the rest can survive the winter. They are usually quite accurate (and the deer population numbers show that). The "natural predators" of deer aren't really around anymore are they? Not many wolf packs running around suburban America these days, so man has become the apex predator in that regard. Maybe you don't like that fact, but it's true. And sure, many deer get hit by cars. I've eaten a good many of those deer. My town has a signup sheet at the police station, and whenever a deer is hit, they call the people on that list to come and pick it up. I'm getting too old to hunt, but these days I get more venison just being on that list, than I ever did with a shotgun. I'm not joking. You should see if your town has a list... it's a lot of free meat for the taking, for anyone who knows how to properly dress and butcher game. And you don't even need to know how to play a harp!

Yep. I have quite a few deer that hang around my property. If I come outside, or pull up in the car, they'll just look at me most the time. I can walk by within 30 yards or so before they might scamper off, but most the time, they just wait for me to go by, then go back to grazing.

I love when people play instruments in the woods, because I wanna see this from a hikers perspective. Starting your day off normal, just going for a hike, and then you just hear eerie music echoing from somewhere in the woods, yeesssss
@carlohumfing64322 жыл бұрын
Well, I think it depends on the music. You definetly don't suddently want to hear loud horror music when hiking through the woods, because the next thing you might see could be Michael Myers who comes with his knife to get you... ;-D

Now you're the mythical Harp Fairy of the Wood to all the local deer. There will be legends about you, and some deer will say you're just a made-up story until the one day that they too hear the music.

I greatly appreciate your admiration for Tom Waits' music. This is an absolutely stellar interpretation of this song. It has such a wonderful "old world" feel to it… Thank you for this! 🙂 Also, can we all take a moment to appreciate the deer being interested in a song called "Green Grass"…? It's such a small detail, but a hilariously ironic one at that. 😆
