Herm I think the analogy of controlling the ship was fantastic. I have never thought of it that way but it is the best description of the mechanics for steering I have ever heard.

Mr. Herm please update us with the progress down the line. I am very interested. Thanks for another great lesson.

Herm, is it possible that this horse favors going to the right more than the left or vice versa ?

I also thought about it, the mane also hangs to the right. right hollow curved side perhaps? (sorry, English google translation 🤭)

Green rider ??!! Hardly ,lol, if he was too green he'd be flying off that horse with what they were doing in the beginning. He is a good natural rider, good posting , not banging on the horses back, good balance , he just needs to learn to bend , flex the horse more and rein/ leg management which comes with experience, much better ending. You can tell he loves the horse and he will be such a caring horse owner which is always good.

Why do you have the post in the middle of your pen?
@hermgaileyalifetimewithhorses4 ай бұрын
Just to be clear this is not my home round pen.I don’t have a post in the middle of my pen. The reason people use what is sometimes called a circus pole or snubbing post is to work a horse around it and dally quickly to it to stop their motion and/or change direction.Done skillfully this can work very well to soften a horse up and make them more responsive. Done poorly it is a wreck. I have no particular expertise in using a center pole like this. Occasionally people will use the pole to tie a horse to for saddling purposes. That is less common than the other two uses noted above.

too big for that horse..... should not over 20% of the horse's weight....... P.S. I'm not responding to any comments on my post..... save the horse for heaven's sake...get off....
