The opening is nice to my nose, but for me, the dry down is where it's at. This on my skin has one of the best dry down scents. But the dry down on clothing smells mildly closer to the opening, with that slight Aventus twist. I would say test it from opening to dry down on your skin and see how you like it. Because for 20 to 30 bucks, you can't go wrong to have this in your arsenal of scents. I like using this one for spring and fall or cooler days in the summertime.

Sounds too good to be true: I douse myself since like forever with Cool Water (essentially a tobacco-greenish silage like Green Irish Tweed), and recently bought, based on one of your reviews, the best "homage" for Aventus: Armaf Club De Nuit Intense. Love to wear the Armaf at ANY hour and occasion. I don't get the vibe of modern "men" fragrances, which try to please everybody with an odd metrosexual vibe. A man should smell like a man, and Club De Nuit / GIT / Cool Water (daytime) fit the bill perfectly for me. Will try to get my hands on this blend of my current favorites, i.e. Le Parfait: French for PERFECT. Thanks, Ashton!

Very helpful review Ashton . . . I would never have guessed that there was that much interest in this one. Believe it or not, I do like Club De Nuit Intense (Woman) . . . I do have CDNIW myself and gifted one bottle too, was interested in it because I like NDN by Tom Ford, but they are incomparable, CDNIW is great, but I dislike the opening by a lot, it is very Rose heavy with this strong old, somewhat medicinal vibe, and this rose opening lasts for a long time, after a hour or two it becomes really nice, smooth sweet dark chocolate patchouli, it is very linear with a bit too much rose to my liking and feels way more feminine then NDN. In addition, it smells nicer on a skin, rose towns down faster and sweet chocolate goes through, on clothes it seems to be all the way just rosy. Besides, I do get a very good performance, it projects strongly and last very long, it projects of clothes even the next day.

Thanks for the video and great detailed review. I just want to add my $.02 for anyone seeking another opinion. I did a blind-buy on this after seeing several reviews of it on youtube (including this video) and I have to be honest, I'm not as huge of a fan of Le Parfait as I am of some of Armaf's other scents. Now, I'm not saying it smells bad, but for me this was a definite case of "smells ring bells", because I knew I've smelled this scent before. Upon my first spray and taking a whiff, it immediately brought back memories from when I was a pre-teen using some of my Dad's cheaper cologne. I remember my dad was gifted (but never wore) this multi-pack of colognes made by Coty (cheap cologne you can find in any cvs or walgreen; the stuff they leave on the shelf, not the stuff they put in the glass enclosure) and the set included Gravity, Preferred Stock, Jovan Musk and some other one that smelled of spice/pine. Now, I am 100% sure that Le Parfait smells EXACTLY like one of them. I believe it's Gravity, because as soon as I smelled Le Parfait, it immediately brought back the memory of that blue Gravity bottle. I haven't smelled Gravity in probably 20 years, but I'm telling you, the smell is so reminiscent, that I'm tempted to go buy a bottle just to compare the two. My memory makes me feel as if Le Parfait is not just similar, but identical to Gravity. So maybe my opinion is biased because of that, but Le Parfait reminds me of the super-cheap Gravity that I used to wear when I was maybe 11 or 12 years old. If anyone on here happens to have both Gravity and Le Parfait, please chime in and let me know if they are in fact at least similar, or if I'm just losing my sh#t lol. I have several Armaf scents and this is probably one that will get the least wear. I have CDNIM, Ventana (my favorite) Tag Him, Craze and maybe one or two others. Please take my comments with a grain of salt, because I'm comparing this to something I haven't smelled in over 20 years, but typically, if I think I've smelled something before, I'm usually right and able to recall it vividly. Maybe it smells like Aspen by coty. Aspen is suppose to smell a lot like green irish tweed. And le parfait is suppose to smell like green irish tweed. So thats probably what you found it to be reminiscent of.

Simply because it is 20$ vs 400$ if you buy GIT and Aventus? To some it might be not much, but for others it is quite a bit of a money. Personally , i can buy both Creeds, but these days i really not feeling fond of paying such an unjustified prices for them frags. Knowing, that, lets say, Cedrat Boise is quite similar, but for 1/3 of the price, makes me not wishing to splash 3x money on Creed, because it just DOES NOT JUSTIFY THE PRICE DIFFERENCE. Thats the whole point here. Them frags just not justifying their price. Thats why people are looking for cheaper alternatives. And by cheaper alternatives, it could be anything, clones, other hidden and cheap gems and oils too. On the other side, people who splashed money on expensive frag, most of the times are being arrogant, and say stuff like "you have no money to buy original", just to justify their purchase.

Armaf does not feel as a very good quality, even considering the price, especially nowadays after being a "made in france". What I mean by that, I have CDNIM, CDNIW, Tres Nuit and I like them as scents, but they feel very chemical and most of the time I start to get allergy from them, like a hay-fever, with a slight bleeding and rash from the nose. I have a lot of fragrances and non of others does anything like that, even heavy and strong scent or even the cheap scents like Nautica Voyage. So who knows what is actually in them, besides that both CDNI versions leave huge stains on a clothing, even while the color of the juice is light and transparent. I really liked UAE version of CDNI, now it just seems like very poor quality. On the other hand, I really like Rasasi house.

I've gotta say, I've never had nose bleeds from a fragrance. I would also say that synthetics are heavily used in perfumery, much more heavily than you probably imagine. That includes niche, indie and designer (unless we're talking something like House of Matriarch). Synthetic does not = bad. Something being poorly composed and coming off as a mess/overly alcoholic/chemically is something entirely different. People have tested the UAE version and France version of CDNIM before and not found a difference between them. You kind of comment as if being made in France is a bad thing, but France one of the absolute top places for high quality fragrances on the planet. I also haven't had issues with huge stains on clothing, but I usually wear fragrances on my skin. I've said before that some Armaf fragrances are no good and others are quite nice. This one falls into the nice category. Rasasi has some great fragrances too, but if you actually delve into that house you'll find that they have some terrible scents as well.

TheChazas I dont quite agree with you and I would be more moderate. .. I have them all and the only one that smells Kind of chemical is CDNI but only in the opening for at least 30min then it become very beautiful with this smoky vibe during the dry down and it terms of performance its the best. As I said already in a couple of reviews le Parfait and Très Nuit are very similar to my nose. If you already have très nuit buying le parfait is à redundant purchase in my opinion. The one I like the most is très nuit. It id very very classy and so good.!! I like le parfait but très nuit is my favorite. ..

@Gents Scents, I do understand those things completely, but yet I do not believe it is on par with all the standard quality and regulations. As for synthetic? of course, synthetic have a lot of meanings and outcomes, for me a lot of Montale fragrances feel synthetic, while Sauvage does not feel that much, but do we talk about ingredients or scent vibes, it is just endless subject. Like I mentioned no other fragrance gives me allergies at least to this level, since I am allergic. These days by IFRA Standards and FDA regulations most of the allergic ingredients are banned or reduced to the levels that do not give any allergic reactions. Well there are a few fragrances that gives me headaches and those are Tobacco Vanille, Noir de Noir and Original Santal, even though I love them, it just gets cloying, but talking specifically about Tobacco Vanille, which was my first private blend from TF, there was not a single time I could avoid a headache, and that is unfortunate for me, but yet I am not the only one. Talking about CDNI, I agree and disagree, I saw a couple of videos talking about that France and UAE are the same, saw someone saying that France is way better or the way around, everyone with their opinions and experiences, so as it comes to my experience I have both and they are different. Smell wise, there is not much difference, the difference is in the opening. UAE is more lemony, apple but yet smoother, woody note feels nicer and more like birch, in France version lemon fades faster which is nicer, but I do not get birch at all, I just get somewhat woody note, which reminds me a lot of original Jaguar for Men just with added citrusy, fruity notes. UAE version is overall a better performer, but has more lemon, France version have a better smoother sprayer, UAE just have a horrible unpredictable sprayer, sprays all over the place, fingers and sprayer always get dripping wet. In addition, stains, UAE version does not leave any, that is why I mentioned it. Keep them videos coming, Ashton, really love your content, scents focused, honest and based on experience with a frequent uploads, follow you ever since your first uploads, if I am correct it was "Massive Cologne/Fragrance Haul! October 2016" how I found Gents Scents.

Todd Karlson, I like Tres Nuit too, I like it more now then at first, it lacked for me compared to GIT, because every time I wore or smelled it, I missed this green bitter, smoky a bit harsh vibe that GIT has, so I try not to compare them. GIT was one of the first fragrances that got me into scents, and to me it is very unique and distinct scent.
