Hal has failed as a movie and an animated series since JL Unlimited. I feel it's because that generations GL was Stewart. He was definitely mine. I think Hal passing the torch to Stewart is more than enough respect especially after he didn't do so well with audiences. Definitely hope they take John Stewart to the big screen; I personally think that would resonate with general audiences more.

I disagree on your take of Brolin not *being* Hal. No, he isn't the young, cocky, hotheaded but still a hero at the end of the day type. But that's not what this Hal is. This is an older Hal who has moved past that phase of his life. Now he is teaching the younger recruit how to be a lantern and how to avoid some of the mistakes that a younger Hal made and maybe even get reminded of what he was like once upon a time. I think you misunderstood the version of this character we are going to get.

🚨 Pagey, the story for Hal in the DCU, Brolin may for the roll. Hal may have already been a Green Lantern for 20 years. The JLA Green Lantern will be John Stewart. Brolin look exactly like Old Man Hal Jordon in the comics.

Honestly, i've never properly seen Deadpool 2 so my main experience with Brolin has actually come from Dune and I loved his character in that. I also noticed that in the last few appearences in season 3 and 4 of Young justice, Hal has been made into a more post-parralax design with the grey in the hair. I know they wanted to go for a grounded and sort of rough, crime drama kinda style and I have always been a fan of the old british ones that did things like that so honestly I am interested to see how it would play out - have no issue with the casting, just hope that casting for john stewart fits as well. Though personally as much as love john and hal, I just want Kyle to be shown some love- Hopefully we could get a live action war of light at some point xD

What is Gunn planning to do with DC's GL-Alan Scott? Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey could/can be a good DCU version of DC's Alan Scott. Also, Hollywood actor Woody Harrelson should have been cast as DCU's GL-Guy Gardner, but he could probably play some other role in Gunn's DCU.

After mentioning Kyle Rayner, this makes me assume that Gunn will want to kill off HJ as the show describes an "ancient evil," which makes me think of parallax. The show also describes Hal as a "seasoned veteran." In the original comics, where Kyle was first introduced, Hal was fairly old with white sideburns in his hair. That would align with an actor of JB's age.

Josh Brolin is a great actor, but I can't see him as Hal Jordan. Josh Brolin would be great as Deathstroke Atrocitus Swamp Thing Mongul Brainiac Vandal Savage Janos Prohaska/Blackhawk. Hal Jordan is abrasive, cocky, sarcastic, and arrogant. And I can't see Josh Brolin pulling it off. Miles Teller, Alden Ehrenreich, James Marsden, Jensen Ackles, Glen Powell, Chris Pine, Taylor Kitsch, Jake Gyllenhaal, Armie Hammer Chris Evans would all make a great Hal Jordan. I want Alden Ehrenreich to be Hal Jordan but since they are going older then they should get Chris Pine. John Boyega Corey Hawkins or Michael B Jordan should be John Stewart. I want Michael B Jordan as Black Lightning. Luke Evans needs to be Sinestro. I not a fan of Matthew Mcconaughey should be Two-Face
