I love the character of Kyle Rayner. He's my favourite GL to this day. I really hope this collection sells well enough to warrant a volume 2, and hopefully one day we can get all of Ron Marz's run collected. Hopefully someone at DC figures out how to use spellcheck before volume 2 is released, though!

Nice of them to release this. Volume one of the trades was pretty expensive on the secondary market. I have the two volumes already but I really hope they continue collecting the Kyle Rayner run in these compendiuns. Take us right up to the Johns run DC!

I had most of this early run at one point. Loved Daryl Banks’s artwork. Glad to see it is being collected. If only it was in hardcover.

Can’t wait for my copy to arrive! Hope DC do more classic Green Lantern runs in compendiums (along with other books of course). I love my Omnibus but this is a far more convenient format for actually reading.

This is great! Kyle was my GL growing up, too, and I discovered the history of the corps alongside him. Hope all this material is collected as an Omni some day. Omar, Kyle’s Latino heritage was a retcon Winick introduced sometime during his run. It wasn’t out of place, or anything, but it did come across a little forced. Marz had a couple of other depictions of Kyle’s father in one of the GL Secret Origins issues (where Kyle’s father meets Hal just after Hal gets his ring) and a brief cameo in a crossover with Connor Hawke.

Very cool review of this compendium, Omar. I did not know that DC had paperback compendiums. I have the Spawn compendiums, but it's the DC omnibuses and Deluxe Edition hardcovers that I collect currently. I know that I am a Marvel guy, but surprisingly DC and independent publishers cover half of my bookshelf. Good figure. Can't wait for another DC overview! Thanks Omar. You're the best!

Even though I'm a Hal Jordan guy, I finally got the opportunity to read this. I enjoyed the fast paced stories. Definitely will pick up Volume 2. Daryl Banks, Romeo Tanghal, and Steve Mattsson are a great trio to have for cosmic stories.

I opted not to get this because the issues are collected in the two Kyle TPBs I already own. I hope they will continue to collect his series along with other series they suddenly stopped collecting like Jim Balent’s Catwoman, Peter David’s Supergirl, Tim Drake Robin, Shadow of the Bat, and Birds of Prey.

Picked this up despite the lack of extra material and lazy "Rising" title just because I love this era of GL and DC. I prefer the lack of glossy cover. Here's hoping for a Volume 2 to continue the run.

I appreciate that this compendium isn’t as thick as the Starman and Milestone ones. With Marvel doing thinner Omnis to pivot from OHCs, thinner compenidums from DC is a welcome compromise.

Issues 48-50 were like watching a train wreck. You wanted to not look, but you did. I just wished that Kyle's introduction didn't have to come at the expense of Hal. Later retcons aside.

Hal’s descent into evil was great. I loved him as Parallax! Such a great villain. Kyle is my GL but I haven’t read anything GL since Kyle’s book was taken away from him 20 years ago.
