Green lentil soup
One cup of green lentils
Half a cup of barley vermicelli
A cup of tomato sauce
One tablespoon of chili paste
A tablespoon of butter
Three tablespoons of olive oil
Two tablespoons of flour
One small onion
Two cloves of garlic
A teaspoon of paprika
A coffee spoon of dried mint
A teaspoon of black pepper
1.5 teaspoons of salt
Juice of half a lemon
2 liters of water
Preparation:
We wash the green lentils, add enough water to go higher than the lentils, and boil them a little. Chop the onions and garlic finely and take them in the pot. After frying with olive oil for 2 minutes, add butter and tomato paste and continue frying. After adding a glass of cold water, we mix it well. We add hot water and when it starts to boil, we add boiled water, washed and drained lentils and barley vermicelli, add salt and boil them all together for 10 minutes with the lid closed. Add mint, paprika, black pepper and lemon juice and check the taste. Our soup is ready to be served. It is a delicious and healing soup that you can drink both in summer and winter.
