I briefly met Pete when Type-o-Negative played the London Astoria on June 20th, 2003. I was backstage to meet a promotor and happened to be standing next to Pete just before they walked out on stage. I regret ignoring Type O Negative when I was in high school. I was into sludgy doomy stuff like Melvins, Kyuss, Sleep, Crowbar, The Obsessed, etc., but the TON fans I knew were annoying prissy goth kids who didn't really hang with our crowd. The green man was "fit" and drank his beloved red wine. Josh was smokin a laid back cigarette, for the x-tra relaxation on the keys. Kenny and johnny, in full showtime- modus ( Headbanging the whole gig, like the other two members.) Amazing, short seventy minutes of joy and doom. Sadly, they have played only the "october rust" material.😢 Very cool memories. Thanks guys.

"Flock of Assholes but with better haircuts" is fuckin hilarious. Reminds me of a huge type o back patch I almost bought around 02 that said "Four Dicks from Brooklyn" and it had 4 green line drawings of dongs in the middle, figured my mom wouldn't approve of that one back then lol. My first tattoo was the o negative symbol around that same time and I still tell anyone who will listen that they need to check out the band. I think October Rust is when they really hit their stride and unique sound to a full extent, Bloody Kisses is amazing but it doesn't have the same depth to it as Rust and the following records. The fact that they put out 3 powerhouse goth rock masterpieces back to back with Rust, World Coming Down and Life is Killing Me is pretty amazing. Dead Again has some fantastic songs (some of their best tbh like Tripping A Blind Man and others) shows that they didn't slow down either. If only we had Pete still with us, he would absolutely hate the state of the world right now and social media. Would love to hear his cynical take on it all. Anyway thanks again for this, you really did the band justice. Finn should take note🤣
