Corrections & Further Reading: 1. Walk Among Us was officially released in 1982, however there was a promo cassette schedule for release in 1981. (It was subsequently cancelled). www.discogs.com/release/14089131-Misfits-Walk-Among-Us 2. Whilst Eerie Von was never an official member of The Misfits, however he did record background vocals, bass and drums for them in 1986/7. Songs that would be released on "Collection II". 3. Blondie: Yes. Blondie was the name of the band. The singer was called Debbie Harry. The band though was named Blondie as this is what Debbie Harry used to get called in the street. Throughout her entire career she has been commonly known as Debbie Harry and Blondie. 4. Samhain (Pronunciation) There are plenty of video interviews right here on KZbin where members of the group [Samhain], and the people interviewing them, pronounce "Samhain" the same way I have. There is a Gaelic festival called "Samhain" which is pronounced "Sauin", these are not the same thing. Here is London May as just one example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKjTgGalp8mkeK8si=SXYnaQMpLNxx1V8_&t=269

They're basically KISS knockoffs and KISS sucked cock, balls and butthole too...even though they were for "real rockers."

I worked at a record store in Dearborn Michigan in the late 90's. The Misfits were on tour for Famous Monsters, they played a sh*t bar called Harpos. The next day some old school misfit fan came in the shop and sold us ALL of his misfits records. ALL of them. Even some rare 7" ones that were mentioned in your video. When asked, why are you selling them?! His response was "Michael Graves was embarrassing to watch, he mimicked David lee Roth with leg kicking and grabbing himself, FCK THAT"....The staff almost broke out into fights to see who has dibs on this dudes collection lol The boss sadly grabbed it all and put it away. I later found it all, I guess he forgot to stashed it. I kept a few things for myself, and sold the rest to a friend.

But the influence the Misfits hold in the Metal-Scene is far bigger than just Metallica as there are countless of Metal Bands in all different Subgenres who call the Misfits a massive influence.

"1977" explosion of punk"? Maybe in the U.K. but here in the U.S. it was a very underground thing. You couldn't find punk records in record stores until the late 80s. Like they might have some Devo albums or something, that was it. Punk never ever got radio airplay until stuff like The Offspring & Green Day, many years later. Punk was America's worst nightmare, no one wanted to know about it except as a freak show on Donahue or Quincy.

Horror movies combined with music, same thing Tommi Iommi was going for when he started Black Sabbath. It's a great hook, no doubt worked for Sabbath and The Misfits too. Thanks for the video my friend, good stuff! 👍 👍

The Ramones were the first and the best. They influenced ALL OTHER punk bands who followed after them.

This is what I was thinking when he mentioned the Sex Pistols first before the Ramones.

@@RewindingsForLosersThe Pistols were around in the UK even when the Ramones were making their name, tbf.

I remember Misfits as a kid but what I had was part of a mix tape that was made off another mix tape, made from another mix tape that was made from.another mix tape. Poor quality but still it was the thrill of having it and the feeling of rebellion that made it all cool. Was more of a metal head back then. Growing up one was of o e camp or another. So being appreciative of other stuff as severely frowned upon. 40+ years later, I don't care what others think. Life is too short to be stuck in one place.

Saw The Misfits back in 2017 in Vegas when they got back together. Fucking awesome show and they killed it.

Great channel! I have just recommended you to my child - another metal and punk fan. One slip in this one though: 10:45 Blondie was not a person, it was a band, and the other members were very important - Debby Harry did form the band but the songs were written by different combinations or individuals in the band.

The band was named Blondie because that's what she used to get called in the street when men would cat call her. She is known as blondie and Debbie Harry. I kind of thought people just knew this. It's great to know younger generations, like your kid, are appreciating excellent music. 1st class parenting 🤘🏻

@@RAWMUSICTV I did know that, but just because some truck drivers called her blondie, doesn't mean everybody else did. I am 53 and been a Blondie fan since about ''79 (eight years old, Heart of Glass) and have never heard anyone call her blondie, especially not in a documentary. The first time I heard about the truckies was when I researched it for my comment. Thanks but all I can claim as far as parenting good music taste has been playing the music. I guess that's enough when it is good stuff.

I enjoyed both the graves era and the danzig era. However I find myself listening to the danzig songs way more. Brings me back everytime I hear one. To this day the Misfits are still one of my all time favorite bands

The one (and only) band tattoo I got that I knew even at 17 and later again at 22 that I would never regret. Their legacy is written in stone and untouchable regardless of anything people could argue. Got my first one pre- American Psycho and my second after Graves had left the band for context. What they did from 77' - 83' is historical. And personally I enjoy the Graves era.
