Used to live on Route 3 for almost 2 decades where you used to that route to follow…I saw locos come and go on the roster but there are some diehards still around for daily use…

Nice video. Those tank cars pick up lime slurry at the plant in Florence. Vermont has lots of valuable rock - lime, granite and marble.

Question as a VT railfan what time of day dose this switcher/train run? or bellows falls to rutland
@NorthCountryTrains11 ай бұрын
That’s an extremely broad question. What switcher/train are you wondering about?

So North Country Trains, do you really think the conductor was riding that tank car properly? And you put that in video? Hey, I blame the conductor...But still...
@Maine_Railfan Жыл бұрын
What exactly was wrong with how he was riding it? 3 points of contact on the car and that’s the only way I have seen guys ride tank cars for years. In fact I have seen a trainer/ safety guy, on CP riding a car the same way.
@NorthCountryTrains Жыл бұрын
How else are you supposed to ride a tank car? I’ve seen some “improper” positions and I typically cut them out… nothing wrong with that, standard procedure for riding tank cars…
@bobbyviti7794 Жыл бұрын
Riding the end of the platform? And where does he go if he falls? RIGHT IN THE GAUGE! And no, you didn't see a CP "safety guy" riding a tank car like that.
@Maine_Railfan Жыл бұрын
@@bobbyviti7794 yes I did, that’s how they train them. Maybe step outside and take a look around, this is the only way you will see them riding tank cars.

@@Maine_Railfan Gotta love when people who have never stepped foot on railroad equipment, let alone observed railroad operations, think they understand safe procedure.
