Easy peasy. Only 3 materials and that's if you count the rib as a material. Keep the good stuff coming Matt.

Seeing you double the weight reminds me of a trick I use to do for a flat body nymph fly,... Once you get the weight double wrapped, take a pair of needle nose pliers and flatten the weight while its on the hook... This will give you a tapered flat body then simply tie your pattern on top of it as normal...

Good morning Matt. Simple is nice. Like the weight method. Something I never do but have seen it done before. The snow is melting now and the river flow is strong. Good time to try your method to get it down faster. Have a blessed weekend.

The green rock worm is a killer pattern here In the Smokey Mountains.I'm going to use the red light trick, red, yellow, and green heads, from now own.Great tie and great red light tip. Here is a tip I have learned over the years. When I use lead I varnish over the lead.If you don't over time or if the fly gets wet and allowed to dry,the lead will tarnish, just like a car battery, and discolor the whole fly. Hope youall are having a great weekend. Ken

When I was a new tyer, I was taught the same thing about lead bleeding through, though my advisor’s solution was to completely cover the lead with thread. It always seemed to work, & there was no bleed-through.

Hi Matt! That's right up my alley, I know it's a bit different but I fish green inchworms, the fish love them, so I know this pattern is a fish catcher. Simple and fun. Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend, be safe. 👍👍

Fast & easy. Recycle - it’s a good use for the tippet mono on a spool that’s getting a bit too old, so you buy a new spool & still use up the old one. This pattern can also be used for a green inch worm if you see them dropping from trees over your favorite stream.

Good morning Matt. Just having my ☕️ and learning a trick for my weight problem 🙄. Nice, simple nymph pattern to demo it too. I’m thinking that I should look for that book too. It’s starting to feel like spring here with the days just creeping up to about 37F or so for most of the afternoons. The nights are still range in low 20’sF for the most part. Just saw some Canada Geese yesterday in the fields so the warmer weather is on its way. Take care Matt.

Nice caddis larva Matt, good tip on the weighting. I tied a lot of those green rock worms, (those booger green things we called 'em), after catching trout that were full of them. Tied them with "caddis green" dubbing, peacock herl head, curved and straight hooks. Lots of latex bodied ones too, from cutting up gloves - a real pain. They all looked great. Feather-Craft made a special dubbing blend for them. I even made my own blends. Never caught a single trout, not even a sucker - which usually would keep you on guard for a take with their nibbles. Gave them to my wife and she caught trout. Have a good weekend Matt.
