Multivariable Calculus on Khan Academy: Think calculus. Then think algebra II and working with two variables in a single equation. Now generalize and combine these two mathematical concepts, and you begin to see some of what Multivariable calculus entails, only now include multi dimensional thinking. Typical concepts or operations may include: limits and continuity, partial differentiation, multiple integration, scalar functions, and fundamental theorem of calculus in multiple dimensions.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

Wow. I only had to take Finite Math and Business Calculus for my major. Still, I'm watching this video because it amazes me just how much further math goes. This is like a foreign language to me, but it's cool to see this stuff even if I don't get A THING. haha

If the field is conservative it does not matter whether you go clockwise or counter clockwise since the closed line integral equals zero for a conservative field. I originally subbed for the video on diff eq so I could understand quantum mechanics better. The calculus playlist is just as interesting.

MisterTutor2010 yes if the curl of the field is zero, the field is conservative so the closed line integral equals zero

Strictly speaking, the two crossing points are not smooth so the assumption of your previous Green's theorem is not satisfied. But it doesn't hurt because the spikes are of measure 0.

Great with one exception, the plot for the 2x^2 should be horizontal for x = 0
@fourier07able
@fourier07able 9 жыл бұрын
VoiceFrom Poland : indeed you mean the tangent line at the origin (0,0) (y=2x^2, a parable passing for the origin) is horizontal. In fact the slope y'(x)=4x is zero at x=0, i.e. y'(0)=0. Also y''(x)=4 for all x, hence y''(0)=4>0, indicating a minimum at the origin for this parable which is convex.
