When the water is higher and there is more rain more food washes in the river and the fish are full and don't bite as well.

When the water is low the fishing is better because the fish become more concentrated in the deep pools in the river.

We usually go there every year during the fishing and frogging season. It’s nice to be able to drive to the river.

It’s open for a few more weekends. We can ease back out there.

We used to live near Norris Lake in East Tennessee and our fish up here are a lot lighter in color than ya'll's fish? Your bluegill and catfish are so dark colored? I guess they all eat the same though?

They are definitely darker when I catch them in the swamps. There’s not a lot of sunlight hitting the water in the swamps and the water tends to be more muddy. I believe that’s why they are darker.

@@walkeroutdoorsadventures8521 Evolutionary adaptation to living in the Florida Swamps? Better for hiding from predators like big alligators and big prehistoric fish like Bowfin and catfish and Gar?
