Green Treefrog

The lime-colored Green Treefrog is common in the southeastern states. The male calls and the female comes to him. BUT sometimes a silent interloper ("satellite" male) steals the mating as in this video.

I’ve got two of them and they are adorable babies and I love them so much. I’ve got the enclosure in my bedroom too, and they really haven’t made a whole lot of noise. I definitely recommend getting some. They’re so cute, and quite easy to take care of! My only problem so far is that I get upset leaving the house too often because I miss them. That might just be me though….

That happened to me at the Wal Mart parking lot. I was patiently waiting for a spot with my turn signal, near the end of the exit. A car came in the wrong way as the person leaving the spot backed up. They blocked the person vacating the spot while I watched them take my parking spot. I was going to pull my gun underneath my seat, but decided today wasn't the day I was gonna go to jail. (True Story).

Got one of these on our backyard water tank and it calls non stop for hours and its incredibly loud. Then the females come and they start making noise too. He just sits on the tank calling, they come and then he doesn't bother to get off the tank to go mate with them. Its really weird.

I’m pretty sure only the males call. Did a little research. I may be wrong. Some females do have territorial calls. I don’t know if females of this species have territorial croaks or not.
