Guys, that fix turned out excellent. I was really curious to see how you would flash and install the window and you are right to be proud of your work. Mobile homes are done a little different so you just have to do the best with it and I like what you came up with. I've never used rivets before and now I want to try that out. Thanks for that shout-out too :)

Hey Guys I like watching your video because you aren't trying to BS anyone. You have limited experience but you two can figure it out and are doing a hell of a good job. When my wife and I were first married I bought a MH for $300 and did pretty much what you are doing. I did not know to look for bad floors etc. Broken water lines blah blah blah. Worked on it every weekend and got er done. Only about $1200 in 1988 money and it was done. Still had to do heat and air but it was dried in. You two keep at it and you will always remember this build no matter how life turns out.

It looks great you two. I love how you guys work together on your home to repair and fix it up like you want it. My wife and I worked on remodeling our mobile home for about 2-3 years. We installed a house type metal roof over entire top. Installed new house type steel entry door on front and rear, had to do some tear out and reframing for the taller/wider prehung doors. As we worked around the mobile home, I doubled 2x4studs at every other stud. Also removed tore out and reframed for energy efficient home windows. Also both bathrooms showers and tubs were against outside walls, so while we had the old aluminum siding off, we remove just enough 2x4 studs at showers, to replace our old showers with brand new 1 piece shower stalls, framed and blocked them up, and replaced all new studs in exterior of bathrooms. New toilets, sinks, vanities, ect. We removed all the old insulation and installed new upgraded insulation. Our old sub flooring was 3/4" osb particle board, and it had a couple of bad places, so we cut old flooring out doubled up the 2x8 floor joists, framed in at interior wall areas, and at exterior walls, and installed 23/32" T&G plywood. We installed tyvek house wrap around outside of stud walls, and put Hardy fiber/cement board on exterior of our mobile home. We live in the country, so we put down a vapor barrier, and installed new vinyl laminate waterproof plank flooring, the entire mobile home. New hvac heat pump system, and new kitchen appliances, countertops, and cabinets, Also added additional cement block piers, (8 under front & 8 under rear) under floors of our mobile home. It's also under pinned/closed in with cement blocks. We even added a mud room, on the back. I know alot of people would say that was alot of overkill , but I wanted our home to be very strong and rigid, so that's why I added alot of extras. We remodeled it and upgraded it the way we wanted it, and finished, and the very best thing about it, there is no mortgage, and we purchased everything as we did the remodel/renovation. We saved thousands of $$ doing our own work. It's was alot of work and a long road but we got it done.

We had about 40 feet of my back wall that had to be replaced 3 years ago so I know a lot more than I wanted to because I had done a diy on my kitchen and it looked so good...then after the accident my water froze and everything had to be replaced and that was a blessing in disguise because all the rot and mold was found in the back wall. I lived without a kitchen for 2 1/2 years. No money on social security to fix an I was too injured to do it myself so trying to get healthier on Keto/carnivore. It does work!! Thank You Jesus. I watch y'all and get up and do a little more each day toward making life better at my house. God bless you and your family. 🙋🏼🙏✝️💕👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I'm in the process of redoing a 1971 mobile home and this video was very helpful. It's been awhile since I have replaced windows, however, seeing how you did this it has giving me confidence to attack what I have to do. I have to replace all of the windows and I am hoping the weather holds out for me as well. I am also going to rebuild the exterior walls with 2x4's and put on ziptech boards and eliminate the aluminum siding. I had to do a bunch of work to the roof way more than I anticipated. I am doing most of the work by myself which has been hard on me, as I my body is in rough shape. I still have to attack the other side of the roof but at this point the windows are a priority as the Maine weather can be brutal. The water and electricity have to be finished up as well. But god willing this will all work out as I am staying in a camper at this point which has no heat but I do have an electric heater and blanket which is working for now. Great job you two, thank you again for the confidence boost now I can attack this project and I can refer back to this video if I run into any issues. Good luck with the rest of your project!
