Soccer's Hard Men is a 1992 football video by Video Vision, presented by then-footballer and current actor Vinnie Jones.
This video, which was pretty controversial when it was released, is a tribute to the hard men of English soccer over the last 30 years. In other words the players who did not become famous because of their technical skills, but because of their hard tackles and sometimes downright dirty style of play. You know, the players who give everything in a tackle, without fear of injuring their opponents or themselves. Some of the players featured are Ron "Chopper" Harris, Tommy Smith, Norman Hunter and Steve McMahon.
The video is hosted by Vinnie Jones, who at the time was one of soccer's hard men himself. The English Football Association was not amused by this video which exposes the ugly side of the game, and Jones was fined £20.000 for his part in the video. The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) attempted to bring an injunction to ban the video, but abandoned their efforts after being advised that is was not legally viable.

He always respected Revie as a great manager, but he didn't like his dirty rough house tactics on the pitch.

If the final game of their 71/72 season against the Wolves is an to go by, you can understand why. Charlton was a key figure in trying to persuade opposing players to throw matches, as they walked up the the tunnel . Just ask ex Wolves player Bernard Shaw

@@rorystone3182 I don't know what the price was but Busby's book 'Soccer at the Top' mentions that he wanted him. United desperately needed a good stopper and Busby saw Jackie as the perfect replacement for Bill Foulkes.

When Revie left for the England job big Jack should have been the first man the Leeds board should have approached to take over. He had already proved he could manage at Middleborough and was respected by all the players. But because of an incident in the early 1960's on the team bus involving some of the directors they still held a grudge against him. The incident? when the team turned up to board the bus the directors and their wife's had taken all the front seats on the bus because they didn't fancy the drive to the game. Big Jack said to Revie if they don't get off this bus then I'm not playing. Harry Reynolds (the then chairman) made the other directors get off and one of those directors was Manny Cussins who was the chairman when Revie left and the man that wanted Clough.
