GREENBEAN, I’ve been saying Sherwood is a hidden gem since his first season before his Achilles injury. Credit Saleh and Ulbricht for converting Sherwood from a safety to a quality LB. Great video as always GB

I don’t think our 2021 draft class gets enough credit because it’s overshadowed by our 2022 class and also soured by Zach Wilson being the 1st pick but just look at it pick by pick: 1. Zach Wilson: Gross but get rid of hindsight and 95% of GMs would have also taken Zach #2 2. AVT: Amazing when healthy 3. Elijah Moore: Wasn’t bad until he put himself before the team, now he’s deservedly rotting in Cleveland 4. Michael Carter: Fell off after his rookie season but his rookie season was pretty good 5. Jamien Sherwood: A project that looks like it’s working out beautifully 6. MCII: Late round STEAL 7. Jason Pinnock: Another solid player that got poached off our practice squad because of a dumb roster decision 😒 8. Hamsah Nasirildeen: Missed dart throw 9. Brandin Echols: Another good late round value that would be starting on maybe 29 other teams 10. Jonathan Marshall: Another high upside dart throw that got poached off our practice squad That’s damn good value for a draft class but nobody acknowledges it because of Zach! Would love to hear what you think of this Bean

Really the only guys Douglas has drafted early that just couldn’t make the jump from college to NFL were Zach Wilson and Denzel Mims. Becton was great before the injury and is still technically a starter in the league Moore was a good player but he starting acting like a diva when he realized he wasn’t gonna put up numbers playing second fiddle behind Garrett Wilson with a below average QB. Everyone else has been good. So I think JD has drafted pretty well.

I’ve been excited about Sherwood since they broke camp in 2022. He’s a good football player and I think he’s going to be a Jet for a long, long time.

Why not? Last year it was Quincy Williams, year before was Quinnen Williams. We know Salah and his DC them can develop some talent...NO Doubt!

I was always going to be nervous about Sherwood replacing Quincy or Mosley. I should have figured that Salah and Brick would have him prepared. To me, we should cut back on MC2’s reps since he has an injury that’s unlikely to get better. Have Sherwood in on 1st and 2nd downs when speed/coverage is not an issue and even have him on 3rd when we don’t need Mosley to blitz. Sure, it depends on what our opponent throws at us but his emergence is coming at a good time and we should take advantage. After this week, we have some decisions to make. Fotu and Barnes able to come off IR. It will be interesting to see when they’re active and what roster moves we make.

GB, I have said throughout the Saleh era that the Jets defense is very good but not dominant. They don't force enough 3 and outs which has allowed opposing offenses to move the ball so even if they stop a team they have left the shaky Jets offense with a long field. I am really not in love with Saleh's defensive philosophy but I hope it works better here then in SF where it hasn't gotten them a ring yet.

C j made a great decision to sign with the jets. C j set the foundation for other players to come or adjust. He is a huge factor in the now today success!!

I’m a big fan of the kid . He plays fast and with good instincts, and I imagine having been a safety he’s going to be able to hold his own in coverage. People badmouth this coaching staff , but they manage to coach up guys who are relatively unknown and turn them into world beaters ala Bryce Huff. I’m hoping they can continue to work their magic on this defensive front because frankly I’m concerned about how many UDFAS they have on the D line

I'd give Knowledge to CJ, Read and React time to Sherwood. CJ would be perfect in middle in 4-3, But Sherwood should play Nicle w/Willims

When I look at the Jets I see Q, Sauce, Sherwood, Quincy, Mcdonald, JJ , Tipp , Fashamu, AVT, Hall, Davis, GW, and Ruckert. Add another 2 from the 25 draft and 2 quality young free agents and that is a 5 year Playoff team.

Love mosley..but hes been a step slow the time hes been on the field. When sherwood stepped on the field, the defense got faster, and seemed to improve

In our base he’s the will so he would stay out there. But he can backup Mosely which is awesome

@@abcortsenwe are! In base he’s the third linebacker but like most of league we’re in nickel most of the time so he isn’t on the field, but he’s also CJ’s backup, which is why he’s playing now. Kind of like how Echols is the starting Dime cornerback but he’s also the first back up for Sauce, Reed and MC2.
