My 7th grade history teacher, Mr. K., played music at the beginning of every class. Nearly 10 years later I still remember him playing this song. He was the most chill, supportive teacher I've ever had. That summer, he tragically passed away in a car accident. They later played this song at his memorial service.

When I was around eight, my cousin gave me her old phone after she bought a new one. I remember finding this song on it and I absolutely loved it. Had it on repeat all the time. But when the phone broke, I had no memory of the song title, since I didn't really know English that time. I've been trying to find this song since then, but without success. Today, years after, it showed up in my recommendatios and I couldn't help, but cry listening to it.

Do you know what's worth fighting for, When it's not worth dying for? Does it take your breath away And you feel yourself suffocating? Does the pain weigh out the pride? And you look for a place to hide? Did someone break your heart inside? You're in ruins One, 21 guns Lay down your arms Give up the fight One, 21 guns Throw up your arms into the sky, You and I When you're at the end of the road And you lost all sense of control And you're thoughts have taken their toll When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul Your faith walks on broken glass And the hangover doesn't pass Nothing's ever built to last you're in ruins One, 21 guns Lay down your arms Give up the fight One, 21 guns Throw up your arms into the sky, You and I Did you try to live on your own When you burned down the house and home? Did you stand too close to the fire? Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone When it's time to live and let die And you can't get another try Something side this heart has died You're in ruins One, 21 guns Lay down your arms Give up the fight One, 21 guns Throw up your arms into the sky, One, 21 guns Lay down your arms Give up the fight One, 21 guns Throw up your arms into the sky, You and I

I can’t explain the feeling I get when I hear this song. It’s such a happy/sad feeling. Life was really simple back then, no worries, no depression, just school, being with friends, good summer times, good music, just being younger- happiness. The nostalgia is so real I know I can’t be the only one.

2009, when we were in high school, I remember being with my cousin (best friend) sitting on the ground on the sidewalk. A girl had broken his heart, so there we were listening to this song, that day I found out that my crush was dating someone else, so there we were trying not to cry. We hardly speak anymore, when I listen to this song I want to go back to that time when everything was easier. Our teenage days had the best soundtrack.

I was 11 when this song came out. I just turned 24. I have a vivid memory from when I was about 7 years old of being in my bedroom about to go to sleep and my dad gave me the American Idiot album saved on an mp3 player to listen to. That memory will always have a special place in my heart and I have loved Green Day ever since. They just seem to always fit in any period of my life whether its a happy or sad time. In 3 weeks, I will finally watch them live for the first time in my life. I will never stop listening to Green Day!

One with drum sticks in his hands one with a guitar and they just walk on to the stage in the gym. The rest of the band is sitting on the stage. Then they played this song. I was 8 years old. I'm 16 now and Everytime I listen to this song I think of that day when green day performed at our school. Oh how the good ol' days are behind us. this video explains a lot about depression and suicide, the beginning is about your scared and worried, the middle is you don't care, the end is there's one thing that keeps you stable, the example in the video is this girls boyfriend or crush, for some its video games, for others it driving, its the ONE thing that keeps you stable
@Insaneisaac99 жыл бұрын
