Bots building bots is how you get a singularity, do you want a singularity?
@BillH29493 ай бұрын
3:46 In situations where the entire area is accessible from the road, it's faster to have the terrain block oriented perpendicular to the road so that the bots don't have to wait for the block behind it to be constructed. Only the third (top) row needs to be directional.

I really love your videos, the way you transform the world like you want and think. And off course I'd love keep seeing more of Whitewater. But if you want to start another series with Timberborn, I'd love it too. Good luck!!

Binge watched this entire series in a single night. (Insomnia.... Yay.....) But seriously loved it! Do want to give one tip though! If you're setting up a temporary site with some piles and warehouses and such, don't just make them be a priority by haulers. But also set them as "obtain". That way they will make that an extra priority by making sure the items that are also already available, are put in the empty warehouses.

Hey, enjoying the videos. Don't forget charge stations near bot jobs. An bridge over crops for that little extra. Make it look good. Hope you take more time to make really customize areas and structures. Try building a roof top pool housing area with a waterfall. I'd like to see your design.

Folk Tails don't use charge stations, but small tanks filled with biofuel does the same thing.

Where you made the straight river with a 3x3 at the end, consider building a meandering stream with a 2x4 lake to fit a water wheel connected to a small living area for beavers with roofs and bushes, like a little self-sufficient mountaintop hotel

You could always build that new dirt wall by the mine all the way up to where the bridges are above it and hang some grav batteries off of that. Should provide a good deal of storage per battery, I think.

I love this series, do the droughts increase in length over time, or have you built a good enough city as to where you will always be fine
@ZeddTheBuilder3 ай бұрын
The droughts have been slowly getting longer over time - however I've stock piled so much water at this point that they've mostly become non-events so I don't call them out anymore.

Hint: if you hold shift while you delete buildings, it won't bring up the confirmation window. Also, it's worth locating catalyst and punch cards, along with fuel wherever your bots are working. Increasing bot efficiency is easier than increasing beaver happiness, and since they work 24/7 it has a bigger effect. You really should get on the experimental branch, they've added vertical power shafts that are extremely useful.
@pengil33 ай бұрын
I’m pretty sure he will start playing on the experimental branch once he’s done with whitewater, other than that, I hope he sees this
@ZeddTheBuilder3 ай бұрын
That vertical power shaft would have been so useful for this build. That switch back to get power up the cliff was pretty wasteful. I think this play-through is getting very close to the end - I'm looking forward to building with all the new stuff in the experimental branch. I'm thinking of doing an "Ewok" play-though where I try to only build homes suspended off the ground.

You could have taken advantage of making that massive dirt dam 2 tiles deep and building a ton of grav batteries along the length at the highest point.

Normal beavers show up to empty storage buildings only when it is set to "Empty". "Supply" and "Obtain" only deploy haulers, but don't really empty it. Destroying it will leave all the stored items in the rubble (no loss), but then only builders will pick it up, which isn't ideal.

Love this series :) great job! I hope you consider doing more “let’s play” types of videos - the recent ones are also great, but feel more like tutorials in dev mode with so many jump cuts. You’ve got a great knack for thinking through a design and it’s fun to watch you figure out a new problem or idea in almost real time (and sometimes make mistakes). Just a thought from a rando😊 either way- great job!

Thanks! This is my first video play through and I'm still trying to figure out the right balance between editing and showing everything. I've definitely found it harder as the projects get more complex and longer to complete.

@remyb8333 ай бұрын
You should just build a mega tower for those gravity battery, similar to how "Real Civil Engineer" is doing. you would be able to store a whole lot more power.

Why you never try to use cache stash? Make a large pile near the place you build anything large. And make some hauling post carry all material to near the construction site. It better than having builder carry material so far far away just to place it and go back to the other side of the map

What are the plans for whitewater now? Btw 1by1 makes the water dissappear almost instantly so you should probs avoid those
@ZeddTheBuilder3 ай бұрын
Next plans: use the green space for some forests/farms/temples/maple pastries. Make a giant monument in that y-split in the middle of the map. Any place done a ton of amenities to make the beavers happy.

Why do you prefer windmill than waterwheel? Fitting rows of waterwheel should be more efficient
@ZeddTheBuilder3 ай бұрын
I'm spending a decent chunk of time in dry seasons now, which stops the flow of water. I end up liking the windmills because they provide energy in both seasons (provided the gravity batteries can take care of the wind speed variation)
@seanward97793 ай бұрын
What if you built a highrise building to maximize the energy of the gravity battery

Now that you hydrated the last few corners of the map, why not plant new forests to fill in some of that space between your buildings?
@ZeddTheBuilder3 ай бұрын
I think that will be the plan! I'm looking at filling in some of the new green space with crops/forests, and probably making a nice monument to cap off this play though.
