Trackside: Friday Freight and Passenger Trains at Heathcote Junction & Dysart- 13/9/24

Video from the 13th of September 2024 once again over on the North-East to catch a couple of freights as well as whatever passes came along.
Starting on top of the Great Divide at Heathcote Junction we catch a trio of G's working on two gauges and for two different operators, with Railfirst's G512 on 9342 QUBE quarry train from Kilmore East to Brooklyn as well as Pacific National's 6CM5 grain from Yarrawonga to Inverleigh topping the grade behind G525 and G520.
After that it's north to Dysart for a second QUBE train, 5WM7 steel from Port Kembla to North Dynon led by the usual triple QL's, the suspects this time being QL011, QL015 and QL020, the latter unit one of two in QUBE's indegenous livery and making my first time catching one of these units.
Trains seen in order are:
9342- G512
6CM5- G525 and G520
5WM7- QL011, QL015 and QL020

Nice to see the Sprinters in action. Pacific National "G" class look very tired and worn. Decent load on the Qube steel train too, nice one Brad.

I like filming the pass activity when out for a day, helps pass the time if nothing else! The PN G's at least seem to be firing on all cylinders getting the 3000+ tonne train over the range.

There’s still that serious gap in the standard gauge track at Heathcote Junction that’s still needed to be fixed been like that for at least 9 months now.

I suspect they're burns in the rail from something having wheelslip problems. Couldn't see any rail joints there.

Thanks, they're definitely in focus so I'd suspect KZbin's downgraded the playback quality at that point

Those quarry trains always have single locco pushing them hard with so many wagons 25 then sometimes you get 3 or 4 loccos on 40wagons
