Oh just saw the condom-thing in the next step mentioning that but still that would only change so that the condom slides on the rebar instead of the rebar sliding to the concrete which is basically the same thing.

Might still do the job but it should definetly be a non-smooth rebar just as every single other rebar in the universe is reffled to adhere to the concrete.

"speed dowel" how ever requires more work than drilling and knocking in rebar. Each to their own.

Ah, before you inject that epoxy in them there holes - you gotta clean them holes out REAL well

All that work drilling and u use wire mesh. Those dowels with a sleeve over them is a waste of money, why not drill it the right size, drive in epoxy bar and be done. The baskets at saw joints are more for exterior road work where they dont want to fight rebar when repairing it. U went through a lot of work to not get a better product.
