@@attentiondeficitoutdoors9134 Hello D Thanks for your interest in exploring Oregon. Since the wildfires of 2020 and again this year, our wild recreation areas have been severely limited. In the Cascade Mountains where many of my adventures took place 536,000 Acers were involved with the fires. Subsequently many of the access roads into and around those areas are now closed. That being conveyed, I've been looking much further away from the Portland area. My recommendations for your explorations into Oregon are the Wallowa Mountains in the northeast part of the state along with some scattered regions in the southcentral part. My current interest is visiting Strawberry Mountain in Northeast Oregon. The details can be found in the book Exploring Oregon's Wild Areas. Perhaps we can get together for that adventure next year. Another area with potential is the Oregon Coastal Regions. As for resources, I have a few of William Sullivan's books and recommend the following: • Exploring Oregon's Wild Areas, Third Edition, by William L. Sullivan: An excellent book detailing wilderness areas throughout the state. • 100 Hikes in the Central Oregon Cascades, by William L. Sullivan: I've hike many of the places in this book. You'll have to do your homework before taking on these adventures. Some areas were devastated by 2020 fires and other wilderness areas now require a permit for access. • 100 Hikes in Northwest Oregon, by William Sullivan: I've also hike a few areas in this book. Again you will have to do your homework to assess the accessibility of the areas. Two fishing books I have that are good for reference are: • Fishing Oregon's Endless Season, by Scott Richmond: This is an older book with a copyright of 1996. Regulations and accessibility have changed since then, but it's a good source of potential adventure. • Fishing the Oregon Country, by Francis H. Ames: Also an older book copyright 1988. • Noteworthy links: ○ Maps | Bureau of Land Management (blm.gov) www.blm.gov/maps?term_node_tid_depth%5B26%5D=26&title=John%20Day%20River&page=2 ○ Fishing | Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (myodfw.com) myodfw.com/fishing ○ Zones | Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (myodfw.com) myodfw.com/fishing/zones ○ Willamette National Forest - Recreation Passes & Permits (usda.gov) www.fs.usda.gov/detail/willamette/passes-permits/recreation/?cid=fseprd688355&fbclid=IwAR1e_fPqBMG2Jga5waSYDyZDXW3q5ocBVDMtzF9XO3O8EVovIEUTx9uTW8E ○ ODFW Gray Wolf Population (state.or.us) dfw.state.or.us/Wolves/population.asp ○ ODFW Living with Wildlife - Cougars (state.or.us) www.dfw.state.or.us/wildlife/living_with/cougars.asp I look forward to watching your next adventure in the high and wild. Greenwood Lake is probably my favorite place on earth. Although it's nice to see your video, it saddens me because there used to be a time in my life that it seemed like very few people knew how to get to that lake. Every time I go up there now, there is a lot of trash on the trail and the areas where people can camp. This is one of those occasions where I feel like life was better before the internet. @@attentiondeficitoutdoors9134 Cast iron and nothing else. I've a nice collection of about 20, most inherited from my grandmother so they're seasoned brilliantly. I've heard people say you can't cook eggs in them but I'm here to say oh yes you can, and they're delicious. Properly seasoned they are virtually non -stick. When camping we had to stick to one or two to lug but once camp is set up and the game prepped and cooked, no one complained about the weight. Made us feel like cattle drivers ... lol.

Corporal's Corner said to come say hello. Good video bro. More people should get out more and what you are doing. Like you said ' it helps our environment " But also helps our lives just by staying active. So much time is lost from the day to day grind that we forget the beauty of nature. I'm a firm believer that we should leave nature better than we found. So yes everyone should do their part and pack up all the trash they can when out. Koodos and much respect from me to you.

..I spent 3 months on Whidley Island in the spring of 2015 with a teardrop trailer, great experience! ..funny we were expecting more rain (coming from living 14 years on the Cape Cod coastline, off Sesuit Harbor, of East Dennis) ..we herd, but apparently Mount Olympus shadowed many of the storm coming westward from the Pacific..

As for it being easier to just buy fish, there is nothing so satisfying, or delicious, as catching, cleaning, and cooking fresh swimmers. We turned an old tiny fridge into a smoker so the large amount of fish we'd catch (U.P. of Michigan) were preserved and like candy to just snack on at any time.

@@attentiondeficitoutdoors9134 As testimony to how good it was I can remember the 'omg eyes rolled back into our heads' flavor through the years. The fish in the lake by my aunt and uncle's cabin was herring and we all stood around impatiently for the smoker to work its magic. We were such geeky kids too, when we weren't fishing we were taking the row boat to the 'island' or dangling our legs into the water to see who could get the most leeches attached to their legs (much to the annoyance of my father who was in charge of getting them off). The hiking and camping and eating what we caught (not just fish, we functioned off the 'law' that we ate what we killed) was brought back in your trip to the lake to fish pervasive fish. I'm enheartenrd to know the tradition of conservation is alive and well. I'll spare you the story of my father taking off into the woods on my uncles Triumph ... ;) Much brush was harmed in the attempt.

First time with you. Binged on everything you had. Great scenery and attitude. One comment I have (applies to 75% + of nature you tubers) keep the voice over or on camera speaking at the same audio level as the music or the music slightly lower. Thank you Observer, I am extremely Grateful as well. Was not expecting anything like that from my long time friend. Now that he has put his name out for me I have no choice but to aim higher than the bar he has set. I appreciate that you took time to watch and comment. Let me know if you ever feel there is more or less I can do to make this content something that adds value for you and others. D
