Are you an expert on Columbia Gorge rocks? If so, I have a rock I'd like you to look at.

After you got them cleaned up they were actually a lot cooler than I expected them to be. Some of those specimens are really cool

I'm glad you liked them and that is often the case with these, they can look unimpressive out in the field.

Your thumbnails are very professional, and you got them made promptly. Way to go keeping the collection organized an neat. Thanks for bringing us along to another interesting mineral site.

Thank you! I try to keep it all neat and together. If I didn't I would get lost in a sea of rocks I feel like.

We used to go to Priest Lake, mostly fishing, but I’m a hound! My ex was colorblind, and he really didn’t see the beauty in many rocks...just shades of gray.

Really nice pace on this video! High speed intro was great 👍. Your videos have a wonderful “sense of being there” about them. Dog howls are always a plus lol. If you find yourself in the tri-cities 👋

Devils Punchbowl is here in SoCal, or another so aptly named one. What a cool area the scenery alone is worth it. Thanks Jared, I really admire your memory for these things. What an awesome area to lay your head for the night. Thanks brother, cheers

NICE!! Know exactly the spot you visitied. Been there a few times myself, unfortunately not in a few years. I did fiind in the quarry one time a sadly degraded salmon pink red stilbite bowtie. Had to pass cause i already had to much and it was fairly degraded. Was still sitting there the padt time i went out that way.

Did you ever end up looking along the river? There's a pretty big bunch of gravel bars right next to where you camped (west, downstream).
@CurrentlyRockhounding

Most off the access point had people camping at them and we didn't want to really walk through someones camp.

@@CurrentlyRockhounding Understandable. That spot west of the quarry I've been trying to get to for ages, but there's always been people camping around it (except during the spring when everything is underwater). With all the agate falling out of the other road cuts nearby, there's bound to be something interesting in the river.

The one I mostly used on this trip is just a small 3/4" masonry chisel from Home Depot.

The name of the game on KZbin these days is clickbait and sensationalized content which are two things that I refuse to do which puts this channel at a disadvantage with it comes to the algorithm.

Gotta get a permit for the gifford pinchot, not sure why i cant just download a permit like when i harvest mushrooms and berries...gotta go in person for some reason. I need to go get one so i can collect "legally"
@CurrentlyRockhounding
@CurrentlyRockhounding Жыл бұрын
No permit is required to collect a personal amount of rocks and minerals in the national forest. www.fs.usda.gov/detail/giffordpinchot/passes-permits/forestproducts/?cid=FSBDEV3_004994

@CurrentlyRockhounding "U.S Forest Service laws and regulation do not allow for recreational rockhounding and rock collecting. Rockhounding, rock/mineral collecting (including petrified wood), and fossil collecting on National Forest lands all require a permit. Permit fees will vary depending on the type and amount of material collected, the location of the collection site, and the potential use of the material. Materials collected cannot be re-sold commercially; collection is for personal use only...Any person interested in rockhounding, or rock collecting must first acquire a permit from their local ranger district office." What am I missing? Did you read it? I just can't get in trouble for a year and Wana be sure...lol
