I’ve thought about Ego but they only have composite decks over 21” like Ryobi which I have. I like my Ryobi mower but most manufacturers use composite deck which is fine. To me they feel like this generations Tonka toys, tough but plasticy. My generation of Tonka was tough and metal…lol! That’s just what I’m used to and like that feel. Don’t get me wrong these composite deck mowers are tough, if not they wouldn’t make them but I just like the feel of a metal deck mower. Greenworks has caught my eye and I’m likely going to get into their 60v line since they also have a nice 20” & 18” chainsaws and an attachment capable string trimmer that I can use my current trimmer attachments with. Nice review by the way!
@everythingrandom32 Жыл бұрын
@@txvet7738 that’s actually what made me choose greenworks. Initially I purchased the 40v dual blade mower which actually has a composite deck and feels crazy light when mowing with it and worked great so there is always that benefit in weight depending on which you choose. I needed something more powerful and durable at that time so I can definitely understand your reservations.

Unfortunately not yet. I’m still on the fence about it but I’ve done some extensive research on it. I’ll more than likely get the zero turn here soon before I get the 25 inch version though but in due time I’m sure it’ll be in the arsenal.

You stated about using your own blades on the mower, can you share what you recommend?
@TripleGreenLawnCare Жыл бұрын
Honestly dude, it truly depends on what fits and what’s efficient for the battery. I think greenworks severely falls short in the blade game so hopefully they can see this video and we can help them fix that 🙏🏽. I cant per-say…say what I use because it’s a competitors brand LOL but I also use an angle grinder sometimes as well as a few knife sharpening tools to keep them fairly new longer than most blades.

I have an early (4-year old) Lowes Worx 80V model. I can cut and bag my entire 4500 sq ft lawn with the setting totally on self-propelled. No more gas cans, pulling a cord, or failure to start. Love it. The only things I don't like are the clunky handle knobs on the side catch branches, and the highest setting is not quite high enough for all southern grass types. The design of the Greenworks mower deck looks far superior.

This is actually the 60 volt model which does what you asked with ease so i’d assume the 80 volt would be more than capable considering it’ll produce more power.

I've used this mower for one year to cut my 0.7-acre lawn. For best results, use the mulching blade that comes with it (I bought three more). Use Turbo mode and larger batteries; I use 5-amp-hour. The mulching blade + Turbo will lower your runtime by 30 or 35 percent, but the results are worth it--beter than my Snapper 21 with Ninja blade or Gator blade. The only thing I'd change is the dual battery chamber: To close the lid, you must use 6AH batteries or smaller. I was hoping Greenworks would redesign the lid to accommodate 8AH batteries.
@TripleGreenLawnCare Жыл бұрын
Great comment! That high lift blade definitely makes the run time a bit shorter. I 1000 percent agree with you when it comes to the redesigning of the lid. Prior to being interested in the zero turn I had bought an 8 ah battery but quickly realized it wasn’t made for the mower. It was made for the zero turns that hadn’t been released yet. There is a benefit though….you do actually hear the power different with the 8 ah but like you said….that lid! Just make it know that it’s not for that with the way it protrudes lol.

Thank you for the no-nonsense, detailed video! I recently got the 21" 40V model LMF414 and love it but looks like it's an older model and can't find a blade replacement. Any suggestions or should I just get a sharpening tool? The proprietary blades are a downside to Greenworks but I've been using their products for many, many years so I'm invested in the 40V Gmax ecosystem
@TripleGreenLawnCare Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the view and comment! Try checking Amazon! I have a dual blade 40v mower that I recently came across some better blades there so check and see what you can find. It might not be the same model as yours considering mine is about 5 years old I think but it could help. I use their 40v string trimmer and edger attachment that works great so that voltage product line can definitely get what you need.

you only bag Bermuda during a scalp, mulch it when green. Their commercial line is next level, 82volts and large decks
@TripleGreenLawnCare Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I’m curious as to what makes you think that? You typically want to bag any grass from any lawn that is overgrown regardless of the type of job that you’re doing. Otherwise the cut will not be “clean”. You’ll simply have over grown grass clumped and sitting on top of your fresh cut grass which then that takes months to break down so if your goal is to use it as a fertilizer, you’ll get to your next cut before that happens so the real benefit is minuscule. You definitely want to weight the risk vs reward then on top of that…TIME. If you’re not gonna bag the overgrown grass you’re now forcing yourself to do a double cut. The 82 volt like is pretty fire as well as their commercial lineup and the extra power is nice but I love the 60v lineup. I havent come across a job that I wasn’t able to tackle with this lineup. In addition to that…don’t really when the bread to go a different route with different barriers after accumulating so many 60v’s. Just gotta keep building…

Nice review, I'm a homeowner looking to replace a 20 year old Honda. How's it behave when it his a root or a rock? Will it handle it without breaking?
@TripleGreenLawnCare Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! All I can say is I feel sorry for the rock lol. But no seriously, you won’t hear it bog down or lose power, you’ll just hear crumbling and chopping things up for the most part. I wouldn’t suggest going over rocks though as it does jack up your blade edges.

Great description of the batteries etc. did your mower come with 1 5ah battery and a 2.5? Is it possible to use two 5ah batteries in your mower?
@TripleGreenLawnCare Жыл бұрын
It actually came with 2 (4) amp hour batteries but I actually use 2 6ah’s. Those typically get me through my day. I think it’s pretty disrespectful to have any battery powered mower come with a 2ah. Nowhere near enough power but one of the main things and features that I love is the ability to run dual batteries and not have to deal with switching over.
