Great review and thank for pointing out the delay on this model. I was able to purchase the newer model of this power washer at Lowe's for $183 (originally $250) since it had been returned. I went ahead and also bought the Greenworks GPW2006 2000 psi pressure washer on sale for $150 at Lowe's to see which one I liked. Although the 2300 was only $30 more I went ahead and kept the 2000 because that delay will become quite annoying to work around when doing various jobs. Anyone that has pressure washed different things, knows that many times you're not constantly pulling the trigger and not getting the power immediately makes a big difference when working.
@kb04svt
@kb04svt 7 ай бұрын
The reason for the delay is because its a brushless induction motor…. Without direct contact from a brush, the motor needs to spin up to create the fields necessary for torque- applying all the pressure at once would mean the motor couldn’t start or would have a tough time doing so. The holy grail would be to have a brushless motor, but instead of induction, use a permanent reluctance magnet motor. Naturally, that would be $$$. So the trade off here is a bullet proof motor that is cheap, with lots of power that will last forever- but with a tiny delay. Worth it in my opinion

I bought the 2300 in the spring (April). Washed my front deck once and front siding. Washed my back deck twice. And the side of my house once. Went to use it again two weeks ago ( 2nd week of December), and water started spewing out of the bottom of the pump. (Not the nozzle connectors). Shut it off and called the company. Customer service is great for this company. I told them what happened and they asked for my contact information and I emailed them a copy of my receipt while I was on the phone with them. They immediately ordered a replacement for me and I got it in the mail within two weeks. Not only did they replace my 2300, but since they didn't have any more 2300's in stock, , they ent me the 2700 model. I have yet to try it out yet. Hopefully it does not have that annoying 4 second delay. I must admit it did drive me nuts when power washing the couple of times that I did use it. Everytime I stopped spraying for even a second, I had to wait for the spray. Very annoying compared to my cheaper units that I've had in the past that had an instant spray when holding the trigger. The only problem is now sending the old one back to them considering I threw out the box back in April! But before It broke I did enjoy the power compared to previous power washers and the ease of changing the tips out.

I had a leaky pump out of the box. I called the # on the unit, but the CSR didn't seem to understand the issue at all. They're sending out a part (I don't see how that will help), but I decided to return it to Lowe's and order a second one. This has enough features/fit+finish the delay start didn't bother me for the few times I'll use it. The $100+ jump to the 2700 is a bit much for a tool I won't use often.

I bought the 2300, I am using this for house hold stuff, driveway, patio, car washing etc. I don't mind the delay as a homeowner, and I know they did this to add longevity to the engine which is brushless which is better than a universal motor.

Gotta rewatch this full video later but just based on the pressure gauge test, I think you sold me on this unit. Specifically searched through your videos because you actually put a gauge on them and test different tips. Was leaning towards the Ryobi 2300, but now seeing that this one makes almost triple the power with a 40° tip, I think it will be way better for washing my truck and this one is still $50 cheaper than the Ryobi. Thanks for the review! Edit: I saw your comment about the green works 2700 and it’s actually the same price and even more pressure! I think the 2700 may be the one!

the "delay" is so you don't blow the wand out of your hand on higher pressures, also a ramp on the motor and gearbox, pistons i'm sure apricate the ramp up as well. Get into high pressure like 15K @ 20gpm and you'll really see what i'm talking about. if you pin that system you'll spin the operator of the wand right around if they are strong enough to hold on haha.

At Lowes as of 12/22 they have 2 2300 psi models. One is 200 dollars and one is 329 on sale for 300. The 300 dollar unit says it has the jet flow motor the other (the unit your showing) does not say jet flow and is 100 dollars cheaper. The 300 dollar unit when tested on other youtube channels produces 200 psi more with every tip.

At present I can only assume that start delay has something to do with why this can reach a bit higher pressure than every other electric pressure washer in this price range. Further research may be required, though that won't change the delay, or it's annoyingness.

I wonder if the soft start is meant to prolong the life of the motor or maybe to keep the amp draw spike in check when it starts to keep from popping a breaker? Maybe not though since you said no other washers you've tested do this.

@@coopula3387 I have since purchased the Greenworks 2000 and used it for auto detailing quite a bit over the last 5 months (bi-weekly on average) with great satisfaction. I plug it into a 15 amp GFIC plug and have never tripped it. I did upgrade to quick-release connections right away. I am not a fan of the long wand and am happy that I upgraded to the M Mingle Short Gun. I did not like the excessive protective oil on the exterior of the product, but this is a small short-term issue. I never tried the built-in foam cannon/reservoir, but rather purchased the MTM Hydro foam cannon at the same time. Another 5 ft on the 25 ft hose would be nice but not necessary (although I have a small car). Hope this helps anyone considering the purchase.

Just today ( July 3rd 2021 ) I bought the Greenworks 2700 PSI from Lowes. What a defective piece of junk !! Ran for 5 minutes then stopped. Every time I got it restarted just as soon as I squeezed the handle on the spray nozzle it would shut off. I took it back to Lowe's thinking I just got a lemon and exchanged it for another Greenworks 2700 PSI as they had two on the floor for sale. I took it home and it did the exact same thing.... I found out there are a LOT of people leaving comments that the 2700 PSI pressure washer was doing the same thing on them also. Don't waste your time on the 2700. It's a defective product. I have the Greenworks 80 volt weed trimmer and chain saw and they have been great but this 2700 pressure washer was not worth the time or money.

11-/19/21 - Great video - Question - I picked mine up today from Lowe's and used it to wash my car and it did great. But, when I first turned it on, it ran for a little while and shut down. I checked everything. I'd power it on and it would run for a fraction of a section of a second and immediately shout down, like something was tripping the switch. Finally, I went to the faucet and turned it half off (reduced the water pressure to the machine) - I'd had it full open. Then, I fired it up again and it ran just fine from that time on. Is it your experience that too much water pressure to an electric pressure washer will make it shut down and a moment after pressing the power button?

You like it? The delay wouldn’t bug me. Does 2301 have it? Any tripped breakers?

bought it,try it 2 times and returned it after,th fact that you have a lag between pulling the trigger and have to wait a good 5 second before water come out was annoying

That’s just like most pressure washers- you have to get any remaining air out and get it pumping

@@austinwoolley4176 yes , but five seconds it's unacceptable, got the 2700 psi instead and it's day and night

I think your delay is a defect. I have watched other reviews where that delay does not exist.

Not sure which ones you watched, but I watched a few after searching "Greenworks Pro 2300-PSI" all had that delay

I usually get about 10 to 12 minutes worth of work out mine (the same exact model) and then it starts to chug where it will suddenly stop applying pressure, there will be a high pitched hiss/squeak and about a 10 second delay before it re-establishes pressure for about 10 more seconds and then repeats the process. I have no kinks in the supply line but my development has magnificent water pressure...honestly you can just about cause an injury or peel paint with the shower head. Anyone got a clue about this shut down issue or perhaps experience it themselves? I may have to contact the mfg to see if they know about it.

Like your reviews I want to get one I’m thinking about Greenworks 2000 or Karcher cube but I want your thoughts on Greenworks 2700 or Simpson 2300 electric pressure washer

Am considering picking up the GW2700 to review. Looks like a great unit. But taking a look at Google Trends and I don't think there's enough interest in the Simpson to justify the investment.
