www.gilhedley.com In this video I introduce the muscle tissues of the rotator cuff of the shoulder joint by means of a clay model, and discuss some of the properties, strong points and weak points of this important structure. Anatomy from A to Z Courses 3, 6, and 18 in my Explorer membership on my site will give you an extremely detailed accounting of the shoulder girdle through on camera dissection comparing two beautiful donor forms, Enjoy!

You are such a great teacher---I remember debating you on my son's desire to take Latin---and so, you start the lesson with a reason why we should have all take n Latin...makes me smile. I am enjoying being a member...we are miracles of nature...more intriguing than any 'model'...

Wonderful, clear, colorful explanation of an anatomical structure that has been hard for me to grasp. But best, you deconstructed those multi-syllabic terms that previously I have shuddered to encounter and skipped over. Now I am approaching my anatomy studies with new curiousity and patience for dicephering those long terms. Thanks!

Wow, thanks, Gil. I was thinking I had damaged some part of my rotator cuff, but after watching, and making some adjustments as I watched, I'm pretty well convinced it's just my bad posture again. Thanks so much.

@@somanaut I just know that they would enjoy your classes so much. I have many friends into Body work They all know I research Autism, So when I tell them about you and all work you do , They are taken back. They don't expect the Fuzz speech. So many are taken back by it .. I don't know how I missed it . I always remember Roger Taking about Fasia I was like I know that ..... I remember the Fuzz But I was always afraid watching the vts With my eyes closed, Until I join ur explorer classes, And you talk us through what you're research is all about. I am not that bad now days , I really can't believe me , A person who feared dead bodies , Actually had the nerve to join. Thank you so much Gil You have really created an unbelievable space 💚💚💚 Marguerite

You should fix your rib kinematics and mobility before doing direct work on rotator cuff muscles. Specifically the back ribs which tend to be extended.

Thank you so much! Would you be able to share more on the rotator cuff and its relationship to the diaphragm and therefore the psoas (etc.)? I have had on and off pain and tightness on my right side along this line and I'm sure they're intimately connected!
@somanaut
@somanaut Жыл бұрын
Hmm I do know that shoulder pain can be referred from the liver, which wears the diaphragm like a stocking cap. That being said, issues can be associated from responses to prior traumas that are event grouped without having to be in direct mechanical relationship, just another way to think on your experience!

When we have a "frozen shoulder", what is happening to the rotator cuff?
@somanaut
@somanaut Жыл бұрын
"Frozen shoulder" can be referring to a lot of possible different scenarios. One such scenario could indeed amount to chronic hypertonicity in several of the muscle tissue groupings which contribute to the rotator cuff, with accompanying stiffness and lack of mobility.
