on your spring gates, i try to take a short length of lite weight chain and use that as a gate extension. where i am coming off of the fixed side. i use a metal bolt instead of plastic pegs insultors. i can adjust tension by shortening a link really easy as the gate streatches. tehn on both sides of the spring, in the coil. i place a alunimin crimp. to keep the spring from unrolling. my spring gates last years of daily use. then you add pvc tape to teh handle and spring. you can see from a distance if the gate is closed or not, cows dont get pushed into it either.

Electrical tape is okay, but have you tried liquid electrical tape? It doesn't get sticky or gummy and it holds up so well outside or inside. I've fixed many phone cords, headset cords, random electrical cords, and I've even used some of it above and below electrical shrink wrap for added insulation and stability.

Love these reels, but I recommend not getting the longest poly wire offered. If the poly wire gets loose and slides over the sides of the reel, you got a real mess on your hands. In my opinion, it’s better to have multiple reels with less poly wire than a single reel with the maximum length of poly wire.

Hey Greg, I like the way your tying off your poly rope. The only thing I’m doing different is I’m taking the soft galvanized wire and wrapping a hangman noose around the rope ends as a binder. What do you think is that overkill? I’m just trying to secure the rope plus get a good contact for the current Flo through.

Hey Greg where do you find those gate handles? I’ve been using Zimmer handles and springs, but they get stretched to far and bend sometimes
