As a Patriots fan, if it’s Bills last season with us, hearing Jerod Mayo on that audio puts my mind at ease quite a bit. Humble but confident. That Patriots way, LFG.

He said it’s not coming from any of the players, but it’s pretty clear from the reporting already that it’s other coaches and front office people. They’re the ones most immediately affected by whatever happens after this Sunday.

Hell no we do not need another defensive-minded head coach the times have changed and all the successful teams in the league have offensive-minded coaches and the ones who don't are not competing for championships! If we depart from coach Belichick the entire staff needs to go. It's time to get fresh blood in the front office and on the sidelines! We will be drafting most likely Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye and hopefully we have a general manager who can draft wideouts to surround our quarterback around and a head coach who is offensive-minded to catch up with the times.

Of course this is all made up BS. It's Greg Bedard, the Sorcerer of Assumption. This is the same guy who "reported" Jonathan Jones was fine and would be out there the following Sunday after Jones showed up on the injury report earlier this year. He then missed the next three games due to that injury. There's your credibility. "It's my job to report these things..." -Nah, your job is just getting clicks, stirring the pot and getting with Felger & Mazz Monday-Friday to gossip about Bill like a bunch of jealous ex-girlfriends...
@garygarofalo158411 ай бұрын
The Boston media is pathetic. And Greg Bedard is the pinnacle of that. They have been shit-talking Belichick for 20 years. Speaking the truth is bologna. These guys all have massive egos and want to “be right” about football. Guess what. A single one of you know more about football than the most lowly, coaching assistant on the staff. And none of you are in any position to suggest what a football organization needs to do to succeed… Because you’ve never done it and you don’t understand in any sort of detail or depth the slightest requirements for building a successful franchise.

What would JM know about the O and developing QB's?
@patriotsfan12248011 ай бұрын
Head coach is in charge of hiring people onto his staff who he believes will coach up the offense and develop the QB. What did Bill Belichick know? He was a defensive coordinator who took over the Browns HC job and tried to force Kosar off the team “from day one” if you talk to some Browns fans. Head coach isn’t about one side of the ball, it’s about all three phases. Getting your staff right, making sure they’re all on the same page with what you ultimately want to do, and putting them in the best positions to win so the players can then be put into the best positions to win.

@@kwf484 no, as a defensive mind he knows how to create a strategy of plays to defend against multiple different offenses, so on some level he knows offense as well. To the depth of an OC, couldn’t say. I’m saying, what’s it matter when that’s not the job?

@@patriotsfan122480 On what planet does the NFL play on where it doesn't matter if the head coach knows the offense? BB knows O, he just doesn't care anymore. He was as spoiled as the rest of us
@patriotsfan12248011 ай бұрын
@@kwf484 he didn’t know it when he was first hired by the Browns. And if you asked fans in 2000 and even 01, he didn’t know to then either. Mayo was a player and coach, he knows about offenses, but likely not to the depth of a coach that specializes in it. Just as the same can likely be said for many first time OC’s that take over as head coaches and need to select coordinators for their defense and defensive schemes.

Mayo should NOT be the next head coach of the Patriots. They need to totally clean house and then find someone who is not part of Belichick's regime to coach and be the GM of the team.
@patriotsfan12248011 ай бұрын
I agree. I like Mayo, I think he’ll be a good head coach someday, and hope he’s given a chance. But right now, just like RKK didn’t give Belichick the job after Parcells left because he wanted to give the team a fresh start, I think the same has to happen here after Belichick is gone. If it works out with whoever they pick, great, and if it doesn’t and Mayo’s on the market and coaching up another team well, that’s great too! I also think if he really wants a fair shot to be a head coach somewhere, he needs to join another staff and see how things are handled elsewhere anyway. I’d rather that for him then he winds up being another broken branch off the Belichick coaching tree.
