He has every right to believe he’s better than Tom Brady, isn’t this why professional athletes play sports, to compete to be the best (and for the money of course 😂)

The first part is true if what you're believing is true. If it's not true then you're completely delusional. Professional athletes need to strive to be the best but thinking your the best when you're not is a dangerous line to play around.

nomar manuel it seems he does when talking about his 3 SB losses. Not disputing your conclusion but I think Brady has only ever been regarded as the best QB in the league for like 1 year (2010-2011) although brees might have taken that honor. Manning was better in the 2000s (except he would choke the occasional playoff game, 2006 vs the steelers being the worst) And a lot of people consider Rodgers better as well. No QB has ever had a better defence than Tom Brady. He's played with 14 top 10 scoring defences. Other QBs are lucky to get 3....

I'm a Tom Brady fan, but you gotta give Jimmy G his due. He went to the 49ers and handled his business. Jimmy was the shadow of TB, it would of been a sad story if he went to the 49ers and was just another bum. Jimmy G can and will be TB successor once TB is done, the guy is pretty good and got a lot of talent. Bad decision by the pats for trading him but his trade was probably the best thing for his career.

Jesus Alvarez - Jimmy G is pretty terrific but Kraft also has to look at the business side of things. You watched what happened when Eli Manning was benched. The whole fan base turned on the Giants even though Eli was garbage. Imagine what the Patriot fans would do if Belichick got rid of Brady. Imagine if they gave Jimmy G a 28 million a year contract after Brady had spent most of his career taking less than market value. Imagine if it was Jimmy G who couldn’t score on the final drive of the Super Bowl. The entire fan base would have been up in arms and all these pundits would be saying that Brady would have scored that TD and that we’d seen him do it before. If Kraft keeps Brady and the franchise slowly goes into decline after he retires, the fans would share responsibility for the decline with Kraft and support his decision to keep Brady because of what Brady has done for the franchise. However, if they keep Jimmy G and get rid of Brady and don’t have immediate success (which in New England means winning the Super Bowls), they would all turn on him. He still owns the franchise, he’s still going to be around after Brady and Belichick. He needs to make sure that he and Patriots don’t come off looking like jerks in this whole circus. Everyone is assuming that Belichick just traded Jimmy G without saying anything to Kraft. Maybe he did consult with Kraft and maybe he told him that this guy is so good that if we trade him within the AFC, there’s a chance he’s going to make us look stupid and the only viable option for us is to ship him across the country and to the NFC. I’m sure Kraft would give up a couple of high draft picks to make sure that his organization doesn’t come off looking like idiots in the near future. Now after all this, imagine if Jimmy G was in New England and had torn his ACL after they got rid of Brady. Belichick and Kraft would be in deep, deep trouble with the fan base.

The best coach who is 66 years old. If Skip were the Patriots owner he'd have to replace Belichick in the next few years no matter what. While firing Belichick right now sounds like something so stupid only a TV sports talking head could suggest it, it would only move up the schedule a little on what's going to happen anyway fairly soon.

Ethan Jaeger it’s close. LT excelled at both running and out of the backfield as a receiver, which makes him tough to top...but Peterson’s superior athleticism and ability as a pure runner is what puts him ahead of LT in my mind. and i’ve always maintained that if Peterson had been used as a receiving back from early in his career, he could’ve excelled at that as well. unfortunately, Tavaris Jackson and Christian Ponder were throwing him the ball for the majority of it.

It's going to look bad for the Patriots if, in 5 or 10 years, Garoppolo is racking up Super Bowls with the 49ers while Brady is finally spending enough time with his kids and the Patriots post-Brady sink into Browns-like chaos. (Note that I said "if" - maybe Garoppolo will have a setback like Andrew Luck.) Also, we don't know Brady is going to be great again this season. Peyton Manning still looked pretty good in his penultimate season before the wheels came off. When Brady finally does go over the cliff it's going to be unexpected. And because of Brady's tremendous record, everyone will brush off his first few rough games when the decline starts - he won't get benched until it's a smoking crater.

If the 49ers get half of Brady's success from Jimmy G. that won't be bad. That would be 8 or 9 years of solid QB play with 4 SB appearances and 2-3 SB wins.

Skip: "LeBron's not getting any younger! He's about to be 34! He can't keep up this level of play forever! Also Skip: "Doesn't matter that Brady is 40 and that QBs don't normally play this well at this age. GOAT! MVP! Won't ever fall off the cliff!" The irony is completely lost on him.

The truth is this has nothing to do with anything Patriots or 49ers. This had everything to do with sustaining the Brown's curse. Legend has it whatever team helps the Browns turnaround will have the curse passed onto them.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with actually believing that one is the best and aiming to be the best. Many athletes and those who actually become the best, or are elite, and even those who are and turn out to be fairly decent to good actually do believe it. Jimmy Garrapollo said he 'BELIEVED' that he was better than Tom Brady, he did not say that he is or he was. The media is making a mountain out of a molehill.

Whether or not he has proven himself yet, there is nothing wrong with him saying that. He's a young QB with confidence in himself and he seems to have the drive and the fire to compete for a starting job, not much unlike Tom Brady when he was young. Even if he doesn't turn out to be a great QB, he still wanted to fight to be the best. Positive self talk, thats all it is.

Hey skip evey year the patriots have won the super bowl they had a top Ten defense. The last super bowl they won they were number 1 in points allowed. The game winning kicks, the Malcolm butler intercepton. They have always at least been a bend but don't break defense. The reason they're defense got smoked is because thier defense was super young and was basically rebuilt for the most part during last off-season. Thr patriots have always been the best at situational football as well under Belichick. To say they have won all these super bowls mainly. because of Brady is ridiculous. Brady has had the benefit of having the best coach in NFL history which has led to the best teams at situational football. Brady has been great as well. Neither would have won as much as they do with out the other.

I am a Pats fan and love everything that Tom Brady has done. He is the GOAT, no questions or doubts. With that said, I feel that what Kraft has done with Brady is what the Cleveland Cavaliers did with Lebron. Brady is so good that we feel he is indispensable to the point that we may make poor decisions for the franchise in order to keep him. I feel like Belichick or Trader Danny would have moved Brady this offseason, while his stock was still sky high. That would have given us the wealth from a Tom Brady trade and a high quality young QB with Jimmy G. It would have set us up to build for the next 5-10 years.

Lol better than Brady? He was traded because he was a free agent at the end of the year and look at the contract he just got. Bill never over pays for a player. Media keeps portraying that Belichick was forced to trade Jimmy without any concrete evidence by kraft. Has it ever crossed their mind that Belichick traded him because he knew he wouldn’t resign with New England for a home discount so he traded him to at least get something in return. I love how everyone keeps saying there is beef between Brady and Belichick, I bet they’re in the film room just laughing hysterically at all these allegations

George Kellam it’s 50/50. Brady has helped bellichick just as much as bellichick has helped him. Brady allows bellichick to focus more on the defensive side of the team because Brady doesn’t need that much around him to be great. In return bellichick puts a good defense around Brady pretty much every year (except last year and 2012 which were both super bowl losses btw)

See the thing Skip doesn't get when he talks about why Bill doesn't take the picks from CLE was because he had no intention of letting Jimmy go at that time. He wanted to keep him. He kept Jimmy as long as he possibly could until he was forced to move him. I think Greg is right about sending him to SF to be in the best situation for Jimmy but that was quite a bit after the draft and what Cleveland offer for him. When CLE wanted him it was reported that Jimmy was untouchable and i believe that was Bill's intention.

1. Jimmy was never better than Brady and Bill was never thinking about replacing Tom. 2. Bill is the main reason the Patriots are successful, he’s the heart of the Patriots. 3. Bill actually was doing great in Cleveland, he was quickly rebuilding the team into a defensive powerhouse, and guess what, that team later became the Ravens and Bill before he was fired he had the Browns taking Ray Lewis. Bill set up the SuperBowl for the Ravens. 4. Bill was never trying to sabotage the Patriots, he’s not that type of person. He would never put his ego over the game. Just go watch some clips of him working and tell me he’s not passionate about his work. He wants to win. 5. When Brady retires, the Patriots will still be great. Becuz Bill knows how to draft and he knows how to win.
